The long awaited Palace of Palaces has grown to more than two years since its opening. And I must say it is a nice experience to go down all around there and enjoy the size and design of the place, even you can sense the scent of each boutique. However, ironically, the shop experience at some point in certain categories is limited and I consider the reason of this is that Palacio Polanco is more the Palace of boutiques which is great for fashion shopping but not great on certain categories on which Polanco store is the same store as others, such as technology and electronics a department not so strong as expected to be. Great gourmet and wine offer with a very interesting restaurant area, which includes the pleasant "Cantina Palacio" with a terrace that can become a classic. Other disappointment is that Palacio lost that great auditorium at the roof garden on which I remember the great gala concert with Xalapa's Symphonic Orchestra on September, 2010 during the Bicentennial festivities, which was located at the end of electrical stairs next to the old gourmet area. I thought there would be an entrance in the corner of Moliere and Humerus as planned for the old Palace but was not the case. Good option to pay parking with Tarjeta Palacio. For all the good or the bad reasons Palacio de los Palacios is of course a landmark...

Here in the U.S., we have malls with multiple independent stores, whereas this is a store with multiple branded "boutiques" within the same store - think luxury boutiques/Best Buy/high-end patisserie and bars, all under one roof. After an hour and a half in the store, we ended up buying a couple pieces and then proceeded to their rooftop bar for a glass of wine before our dinner.
Now on to the not-so-good...going to a foreign country to be followed around a store, by MULTIPLE staff members is not so fun. I will let the reader of this review make your own assessment as to why that might be. At first, I thought I was seeing things and then when I saw a person from a section I visited 20 minutes before conspicuously watching me was a bit unnerving. Then, when I saw other staff peeking around corners and asking "do you need assistance?", it became a little crazy. I was over the whole experience at that point and I wanted to pay so I could leave.
I live in greater Houston, so everything available at this store, I could get at home. Definitely, no need to go back when I...
