I saved up a lot of money to be able to spoil my grandma for my 18th birthday to bring her to cdmx and take her to all of the best restaurants. Our server got our order wrong and was pretty rude after we clarified we only ordered one thing of pancakes.

She did not repeat our order after we ordered it and we are native spanish speakers so she definitely could understand us. She refused to serve us after we clarified that she got the order wrong and I had to get up several times (asking other servers) for water, the check, etc.

We originally felt sorry for her as we thought that she was sad so originally I was going to give a 30 percent tip. (Which already was very generous as tipping in mx is usually only 10%) But after I clarified to another waiter that we would not be paying for the pancakes (that 1. we did not order 2. did not eat) she passed by angrily and in a passive aggressive tone said she would have to pay for it out of her own pocket. I completely understand where she comes from, I have made the same mistake. But I never take it out on the customer. (We also still left a 15% tip)

Overall, the food was okay. The restaurant itself was pretty and the atmosphere was lovely. But the price along with the service was not worth it. Ironically enough, out of all of the restaurants we visited, Maque was the most expensive (for breakfast) and had the worst service during our whole trip.

If you are looking for a yummy breakfast w/ good service & nice atmosphere I highly recommend checking Frëims out instead.

At least I got a cute photo of the...

The food was really good and the place was very pretty. Also, prepare yourself, if you're going upstairs, for one of the most wonderful smells you'll experience. There is a bakery on the first floor and you pass by that to go upstairs.

The staff were well trained and knew what they were doing the service was good. The food however, was good and bad.

I had chilaquiles, they were near steaming and were as close to mom's as you could get. For me, it was really good. My family had a different experience. 3 of my family members had received food that was below warm. As if the food had been prepared ten minutes ago and left close to a fan. Although, the taste was really good on all the meals. Also, they give out bread at the start of the meal and my family each picked out something different and it was really good. Warm, soft to the touch and delicious. I had a croissant and I enjoyed, which is more that i can say for most of the...

Absolutely my favorite breakfast in Mexico City! We were walking in Condesa and passed by, the people eating outside looked so happy I had to stop. Glad I did. All the pastries are handmade and are simply delicious. The cornbread muffin was the most amazing cornbread I have ever had. So soft and most. My boyfriend had a delicious poblano omelet with crunchy tortilla chips in salsa and beans, super delicious. I had a sandwich with shrimp, cheese and strawberries (?!) which was a little strange but also really good. The bakers make the pastries right in the window and I was totally entranced, watching them skillfully cut cinnamon rolls and little galletas. They also sell the cookies and other sweets inside the bakery. I had some thin almond cookies with me for the rest of my time in Mexico, DF. Definitely would go...
