Butcher & Sons Condesa — Restaurant in Mexico City

Food is excellent. Atmosphere is lovely. Services are awful. I have eaten here many many times and the last few times multiple people have been rude and dismissive right as we arrive. Last night we planned on ordering drinks, appetizers, and dinner but because of the rude attitude we only ordered the appetizers and went to a different restaurant. They were not happy that I just wanted water to drink when we first arrived. Two separate waiters were rude. I wanted to know what I was going to eat before I ordered a drink. Apparently that was not ok with them. They did this one time before and I brushed it off that it was possibly a bad night. It two times in a row is unacceptable. It’s normal to wait to order drinks until you know what meal you are...

First negative review in quite a while! My waiter was (a) completely ambivalent to my presence and (b) unwilling to substitute any sides for anything else. Having been a restaurant manager in the last, I understand that things are pre-portioned. I also understand that exceptions can be made when you are the only customer in the restaurant on a Monday night. I probably would have just walked away without writing this review, but the waiter insisted on joking with his coworkers about it and laughing 20 feet from me. In the end, it was just an unsavory experience at I place I was excited to eat! If only they could have subbed some cauliflower (on the menu) for my fries instead of asking me to buy $10 worth of cauliflower...

WARNING!!! Please do not order any beverage that comes in a “cantarito” this is the second time they served me a cocktail and the recipient has mold in the bottom. Unfortunately the first time I didn’t take a picture but it was so much worst (that was on Polanco’s branch). Mold spores can place in your system and course severe diseases. The waiter changed the cocktail recipient for one made of glass, but I don’t really think this is a fix to the problem, food is expensive and if they are not careful with something that is so visible like mold who knows what they do in...
