We had to check out this very popular place after walking by multiple times the previous day.

The food looked and smelled great and the large number of people waiting to be seated were living testimonials. There are a few tables inside, but most tables are outside on both sides of the sidewalk.

We gave our name and returned a few minutes before their wait estimate to find our table ready.

It made our life so much easier that they had menus in English for those of us still mastering Spanish.

We were starving and ordered a green juice and a blueberry smoothie and a fruit bowl with homemade granola.

Then, we ordered their house specialty, made-to-order chilaquiles. First you pick your size bowl and whether you made your tortilla chips fried or baked. Then, you pick your spice level and your protein. You can add extras and decide if you want the onions, cream sauce and cheese base.

Everything arrived quickly and so well made with fresh ingredients. The presentation was eye-catching.

An amazing brunch well worth the wait. We sampled each other's dishes and decided we wanted to return to tweak our favorites.

We enjoyed the meal so much that the next morning we decided to visit again, since it was only a block from our hotel.

We tried new variations of the chilaquiles with a chai tea latte with almond milk and another blueberry smoothie.

The second visit was just as wonderful as our first visit and I'd highly recommend this very popular local place. Very friendly and kind...

We had Monday breakfast at Chilpa and it set the tone for our week - because it gave me that, “TGIF - it’s Friday” feeling, all day!

They appeared to be busy every time we walked by (in the past during noonish to evening), but this morning we were determined to wait until seated! And upon arriving at 9:50am, we were quickly seated! And not too soon, as a long line formed while we enjoyed our breakfast.

They have complimentary wifi, BTW, so you can continue your “week day routine” -without skipping a beat!

The menu is extensive but the most remarkable aspect is the, “build your own Chilaquiles”, in (size: small/medium/large) and either baked or fried. We ordered small & fried, which was sufficiently satisfying. I had the salmon goat cheese & spinach omelette + salsa, delicious!

Surprises: (1) After our green tea & Americano arrived, our server showed us offerings from the pastry basket sigh Conchet so unusually buttery, delicate & moist that we gobbled it up before I could take a photo! (2) Coffee was great and moreso the tea, whole-leaf; (3) Live music arrived shortly after we started eating - bring coins to tip.

Courteous service, warm hospitality, convenient pedestrian friendly upscale neighborhood where vendors have pride in clean sidewalks and litter-free streets, sparkling storefronts, overall pleasant...

I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed with Chilpas chilaquiles. The presentation alone was stunning, with vibrant colors of red and green salsa, perfectly oven toasted tortilla chips, and melted cheese drizzled on top, with goat cheese and area Hera. But it's not just about looks, let me tell you.

The first bite was a symphony of flavors. The crunch of the tortilla chips mixed with the savory and slightly spicy salsa, accompanied by the richness of goat cheese, portobello and arrachera, was truly divine. The eggs were cooked to perfection, adding a creamy texture and a comforting flavor to the dish.

Overall, I am extremely pleased with these chilaquiles and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying breakfast option. The flavors were bold and well-balanced, and the quality of the ingredients was top-notch. A real standout dish in...

Price pp $27 USD w/ tip As someone who has never been to CDMX, I was very excited to try chilaquiles which this place is popular for. We arrived around 11:30am & got seated around 12:15. A very popular place! The staff was friendly but there were so many options for the chilaquiles! You def have to go in knowing what you want. I think mine was good but I should have gotten the spicier option. I was not, not surprised by the price. They get you with the add-ons. Wish it was cheaper. And there’s should be a most popular option, in addition to customization. Eggs, Suadero, Fried, Avocado, Panela Cheese, No spicy I can’t remember what my friend got, but we were not expecting hers to be so big.
