Excellent mother, this bread consistently tastes great and the best place I've found for pan de muerto. A good example of the customer service: during the tail end of the pandemic when the city stopped enforcing masks inside, I didn't have my mask when passing by one day. I went in expecting that the relaxation of the ordinance would mean that would be ok, got some bread, and approached the counter with it, but was asked to leave because I had no mask. I immediately obliged, but from the door, asked to be charged there, since it is about a metre from the counter, and they already had in hand what I wanted to purchase... in response to this, they said they "were under no obligation" to do that, which is of course true... but also weirdly unreasonable? Noone else was in the store at the time. I just said to them that although they of course had no obligation, it would be really nice of them. By that time, I had been a regular for more than a year. They reluctantly decided to help me but I think this gives some context to the comments about their weird attitude towards customers. After that, they stopped allowing foreign cards, since I believe there is a percentage or two more commission that they are charged. So, they're nice on their own terms, and sometimes they don't feel like it, and you may well not feel welcome at all. but after going there for years, i don't really care, I go back for the quality and consistency they keep with their bread...

However, the service is seriously disappointing. The cashiers are consistently in a bad mood, and their poor attitude makes the whole experience frustrating.
Despite loving their bread, I don’t visit as often as I’d like because the service is such a pain for regular customers. The owner really needs to address this issue because it’s a huge downside to an otherwise amazing place.
That said, if you don’t mind the lackluster service, the bread is top-notch and...
Read moreI am giving them a 10 out of 5 stars review but secretly hope not many people find this since I am obsessively in love with this little heaven on earth. 😂 This is THE best bakery oh my god everything I’ve tried so far is waaaaay beyond expectation! We all know (good) bread is eye-popping expensive nowadays in Mexico City and since I am a bread snob I tend to spend ridiculous amounts of money on fancy bakery. NOT ANY MORE! Cinco y dos bread is very very reasonably priced. I love this place, but people, I want it to be all mine hidden from the crazy crowd. So thanks for reading this review and not...
