“Average” is the word that summarizes Cucurucho. This café feels more like a take-away spot, which is a bummer because the inside space, packed with refrigerators, could have been a nice area to enjoy your beverage. The service was indeed average—I didn’t feel anything special, and it felt more like a transaction than an experience. They even asked for a tip, despite the coffee being for take-away, which felt a bit off.
The biggest disappointment was the limited milk options, with only almond milk available as an alternative (aside from lactose-free milk). Another odd detail was how they served my beverage without a lid, and I had to turn around to the other side of the café to grab one. These small annoyances really diminished the overall experience.
There are chairs outside the café, but during Mexico City’s summertime, sitting outside without any covering isn’t ideal unless you want to get soaked. My chai latte with lactose-free milk was a tad sweeter than I would have liked, but it was nothing special. The chai was $70 (+$5 for lactose-free milk), which is average for the area.

Siempre voy a esta sucursal a comprar cafés, en esta ocasión compré un latte frío, lo destape para ponerle azúcar y la tapa no embonó, lo que provocó que el vaso se me reventará y se me cayera todo mi café. Creo que a cualquier persona le puede pasar un accidente así, y puedo asegurar que en cualquier otro establecimiento me hubieran dado otro café sin cobrarlo, ya que todavía ni salía de su cafetería.
Sin embargo la reacción del personal fue bastante incompetente, no sabían ni cómo recibirme el vaso que se estaba chorreando, su actitud como si no supieran cómo limpiar y hubiera causado un súper problema a lo que me hizo sentir muy incómoda. Ni siquiera me dijeron un “no te preocupes” o “te preparamos otro café”, como en cualquier lugar donde un personal capacitado hubiera tenido esa atención.
Su opción fue llenarme el vaso roto con más leche pero que me iban a cobrar otro café, a lo que le pedí que si ya me iba cobrar pues que me preparara otro.
