A local recommended we get coffee here as it was supposed to be the best. Far from it.

We inquired about the beans and was told they only have a dark roast blend (gag). With some pressing they said they could do the drip I ordered with a single origin. My partner got a flat white which only came with the dark roast.

The drip was very good. The flat white was the most bitter burnt tasting drink I've had in a long time.

My partner went and asked for a drip the same as I had. When they brought it out 20 minutes later, they had very obviously brewed the dark blend they had. We spoke to them about it and they said WE were mistaken and it was the same coffee, but they brewed it differently.

We told them to try it and they refused but said they'd make us a new one. The new pour over was much better but was still quite bitter (either over extracted or the grounds had remnants of their dark roast in it).

This place may have been good at one point but it's going downhill moving to dark roasted blends the primary...

I'm going to be generous on this review because the coffee was so well made. I ordered a mocha, and it was served at the perfect temp with a fancy pour. The real chocolate with hints of cinnamon were perfectly blended. The only problem was it took almost thirty minutes to get the drink, and at the time of writing this, I still have received my food. The reason for this is the environment. This shop is basically a shoe box and it feels like it's trying to do too much. Stuffed with top end gear, pop culture items, coffee making equipment, and a small kitchen, there isn't much room for staffing, so it's capacity at busier times seems to outweigh it's ability to deliver. There is plenty of seating outside with only five seats inside, but it's just too much for only two people making...

I wonder why I hadn't posted about this place. Perhaps I just wanted it all by myself and didn't want more people coming on weekends and increase the waiting time. ANYWAY. I love Casa del Fuego. This is the place I take people who visit me for breakfast. Coffee is not my thing (i'm happy with a regular latte), but if it is your thing, this is even more the place you need to visit. They are SERIOUS about their coffee: sources and technique. Now, the food: great salmon bagels, great avo toast and a must-try filled tomato. I'm sure you'll hear about their secret menu: caramelized banana french toast or the rum&pear toast. Try both and thank me later. The only downside: waiting to get a table and waiting even more to get served. Service is SLOW (but...

Came for brunch with my husband. The coffee is great. It is for coffee lovers. I had the especial and it was a delicious sandwich. I don't usually care for bagels, but this one was perfectly toasted yet still soft. The flavors melded perfectly and balanced each other out. My husband got the aguacate tatemado and he gave it a 4.5/5. It's a cute little space, we sat under the tree and my husband got a little gift dropped on him by a bird 😉 it was no big deal but would have sucked had it been his food, so just something to consider. The staff is great, very helpful, friendly and attentive.
