El Tizoncito Cholula — Restaurant in Mexico City

Your "Basic" taco experience, if you are new to the taco scene in Mexico CIty (or just landed) I can wholeheartedly recommend El TIzoncito, it sits right in the middle of the newer fancy taco shops like Orinoco ( mostly overrated imho) and the highly risky street taco experience... 5 Pastor tacos with everything ( pictured, do not wuss out and start cherry picking your topings !) and a coke will run you about $10 USD (including tip) in late 2024, , the locale is no frills, somehow uncomfortable, the service is subpar, but you will get 80% of the taco experience and your odds of getting sick are low ( but not zero), Pareto would eat here.

The menu is a bit of a headscratcher, do not waste your time with chilaquiles,soups, custom creations (except pastor) or huraches, stick to cheese based stuff ( Chicharron de Queso, alambres) , but really you came here for pastor tacos and maybe some other grilled taco, the rest just detracts from the experience.

Heck, you can even order a Kilo of pastor (para llevar) for about $25USD take it back to your airbnb and get naughty at...

The food at this restaurant was practically inedible. the pozole was barely above room temperature, the guacamole was brown, and the tacos -- just meat and tortilla -- lacked flavor and seasoning. On top of which, our server was apparently not having a great day, as he barely looked at us at all and had to be called over for each request. We left after just one bite of each item, which went completely unacknowledged by the server. I would never recommend this place and am shocked by the other reviews here....

Este lugar que lleva mil años en esa ubicación ya no es lo que era. De las peores experiencias. Fui recientemente un domingo, a la 1pm. Éramos tres mesas con dos meseros, por lo que pensé que saldría rápido todo. Pedí para llevar. 20 minutos después me pidieron el favor de cambiarme de mesa porque una pareja traía un perro. Accedí sin problema y me moví a otra mesa. Esperé en total 40 minutos por mi pedido. Pregunté dos veces por mi comida y, como autómatas, el mesero y el capitán respondían que ya salía todo. A los de la mesa del perro los atendieron primero. Evidentemente nadie se percató ni responsabilizó por mi pedido solo porque me cambié de mesa. La tercera vez que pregunté por mi pedido salieron con un datáfono a cobrar. No habían ni siquiera metido la comanda. Me entregaron el pedido finalmente y cuando llegué a casa me di cuenta que me habían dado otra cosa. Pedí dos órdenes de arrachera, unos tacos al pastor, y un tostiz. Me dieron en cambio unos tacos con queso de lo que parecía ser costilla y unos tacos al pastor. Ni arrachera ni tostiz. El sabor blando y plano, la presentación de llorar. Tardado y estafado. Definitivamente taquearte o el califa le dan en la madre a esta mediocridad. Además el lugar luce desaseado y viejo y las sillas son...
