Summary: We stayed in the Hotel Casa Ensenada for 4 nights over New Year’s Eve. We loved staying here and would highly recommend it to everyone!
Full review: The location of the hotel is right in the heart of Condesa, a lovely neighbourhood that feels safe and quiet but well connected to good restaurants and cafes.
The building itself is beautiful and has a traditional Mexican feel. The hotel has two large courtyards for relaxing, fitted with a modern fountain and fire place. We really enjoyed sitting here after a long day of exploring Mexico City.
The rooms themselves are spacious. The bed is easily big enough for 2 people and very comfortable. Included in the price of the room is a delicious continental breakfast - every morning we had a simple fruit salad, granola and pastry which was perfect to start our day!
By far the most impressive part of the hotel is the quality of service. Straight away we felt right at home. The staff have an immense willingness to help - for example they were more than happy to help us book taxi transfers or keep the breakfast open longer to fit our own routine. They also have a natural friendliness, charm and generosity - for example on New Year’s Eve, we were heart warmed to be welcomed back with New Year’s Eve Mimosas when we got back from our day sightseeing.
We really loved staying here and I could not recommend this...

We stayed for four nights and had the most amazing stay. Monica, Marco and Alejo were such lovely, generous and welcoming hosts, they really made our time in Mexico City.
The hotel is so nicely done, lovely modern rooms but in a beautiful traditional building. The rooms were great with a large double bed, great bathroom, and very clean and we received cleaning every day. We stayed in the room with our own patio and it was very quiet. The neighbourhood is great too - lots of coffee shops and restaurants in walking distance and felt very safe.
Breakfast daily is a real treat in the courtyard, with lovely fruits, granola and coffee. The courtyard makes a great space to relax in the midst of the city too.
Thank you for our stay and would highly recommend to anyone coming...
Read moreWe stayed here for three nights in September and absolutely loved it. From the moment we arrived, Monica and Rodrigo treated us like family. They were always available to take care of every little need, recommend incredible restaurants, and check in to see how our activities were going. It felt more like staying in someone’s welcoming home than in a hotel—they were truly invested in us having a wonderful trip.
The accommodations were lovely. We especially enjoyed our room with the bathtub and the view overlooking the street and courtyard. The thoughtful touches—like special snacks and chocolates left during turndown service—made the experience even more memorable.
We will definitely stay here again and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting...
