Alright, let me tell you about this spot I stayed at in Mexico City called Casa Bis. It’s one of those boutique hotels that feels like it’s trying to be your cool, artsy mate, and honestly? It does a pretty solid job. First off, the location is chef’s kiss. It’s smack in the middle of Condesa, which is like the Dublin of CDMX—loads of trendy cafés, leafy streets, and good vibes. You’re basically walking distance from anything you’d want, and if not, there’s always an Uber close by. The rooms? Lovely. Small, sure, but everything’s got its place—wardrobe, drawers, even Netflix on the telly. Beds are super comfy, which is crucial after a day of tacos and exploring. They even sort you out with earplugs and chocolates. Fancy, right? But, a heads-up: no air con. If you’re there in winter, it’s grand, but summer might get a bit toasty. The staff are absolute legends. Like, they sorted me out when I rocked up at an ungodly hour, made me coffee, and let me check in early. And the cleaners? Fair play to them; they’re on top of it. Though, there was this weird smell from the bathroom at one point. And those soap dispensers? Not working when I got there. Nothing major, but worth noting. Overall, Casa Bis has its quirks, but it’s charming in a very human way. Perfect spot if you’re looking for good vibes, great location, and people who genuinely...
Read moreThe hotel was clean and in a great location. However there were some poorly designed aspects of the room that detracted from the stay. These issues would not be too major to fix and would make the stay so much nicer.
The shower head was one of those rain type ones from above. The head was nearly the size of the show room, and located between door and the temperature handle, making it impossible to turn the shower on and to the correct temperature without getting soaked and water on the floor.
Their was some weird stench the in bathroom even with the bathroom window open. I'm guessing it was coming from one of the drains, or maybe area that the bathroom window opened up to.
The soap and shampoo dispenser in the shower did not work or were not filled, not a big deal but had to bring our own.
The bedroom windows opened to the inside. This made it impossible to have the curtains shut and the window open. Their was no AC so this was the desired configuration at night. Also, no AC for the price of the room...
Read moreIf I could give more than 5 stars for each category I would. Every staff member we interacted with here was incredibly kind. From the friendly folks at the front desk, to the kind woman who handled the housekeeping, their welcoming friendliness made our time here in CDMX much more special. We had a longer stay, almost two full weeks, and early on, they kindly offered us a free room upgrade to a much more spacious suite that had a rooftop balcony with seating. Having the larger room was really nice. The beds in both rooms were very comfortable. The rooms also come equipped with wardrobes, drawers and hangers so you can make yourself at home. Every detail about Casa Bis is executed thoughtfully. There are tons of amazing cafés and restaurants within walking distance. Thank you Casa Bis staff for all your kindness and help throughout our stay. This was our first time visiting MX & CDMX, and our stay at Casa Bis made it that much more magical. 🔮 We would love to stay here again...
