Jardin del Corregidor — Restaurant in Mexico City

I walked into Jardin del Corregidor one Sunday afternoon because I heard the sound of a calming fountain and the clanking of forks on plates and needed to know what was inside. What a lovely surprise! There are beautiful rose bushes and a green patch where a baby was playing with his grandmother. Feels like the kind of place the clientele has been coming to for years. Great little spot, very serene atmosphere. I actually dislike water features more than my own personality, but there's something oddly relaxing about the one in the corner. A guy on the table over from us spent the night ranting about the olives (they'd served them in Worcester sauce or something, but I mean, it's Mexico, you're lucky if your new car doesn't come covered in Worcester sauce) - at one point I thought he was actually going to get violent, but it was nice to hear the entire diatribe in another British accent, even if he was from Manchester or some other town in Scotland.

Very nice garden and super quiet ambience. Suitable to go with your parents and grandparents, it reminds a lot of the houses of 1970 in Mexico. The food is homemade style, the portions are generous, the type of service is that of a hotel with white tablecloths, the experience is of a garden meal.
