If you like meaty tacos, get the chamorro! (Pictured below) Well seasoned, juicy pork leg meat that is fork tender. Topped with micro greens and red onion - really brings out the brightness and cuts through some of the richness of the meat. For a starter, You can't go wrong with their Guacamole - freshly made and chips. The flauta ahogado is fried and comes with a delicious mole and crema. Lastly the Quesadilla de jamaica was a nice way to end the meal - sweet and savory. Everyone sits at one large table. Which is kinda cool because you get to see what others ordered. There are different salsas, tomato based one is level 1, smoked red chili, level 2, and the ones with the peanuts is level 3. Only add that one if you are sure you'll be okay with the heat. Highly recommend eating here if you're in the area.

LONG WAIT & the seats are very uncomfortable. The communal tables don’t really take into account the experience of the customer. 6 strangers to one table is ridiculous. Just split the tables up into two top tables like they were before. Each customer looks so uncomfortable when they have to move over to fit more people in. The food is still delicious but small changes due to demand or profit like no more blue corn tacos (why?) and the owner hiding in the back has changed what it once was. Shes not friendly like she use to be. They also charge extra for crema on side which they never did. I don’t know… things are slowly changing and I’ll be curious to see what the service and food will be like in a year from now. The food is still delicious but I don’t think I’ll go back anyway. Very sad 😞

Comal Oculto is an absolute gem nestled in the heart of San Miguel de Chapultepec. From the moment you step in, you're greeted with warm hospitality and an inviting ambiance. The menu is a delightful fusion of traditional Mexican flavors with a modern twist, crafted with care and creativity. Each dish is a culinary masterpiece, bursting with freshness and bold, authentic taste. The agua frecas are expertly crafted, perfectly complementing the vibrant flavors of the cuisine. The attentive staff adds to the overall experience, making you feel like part of the family. Whether you're a local resident or just passing through, Comal Oculto is a must-visit destination. Five stars all around for this neighborhood gem!

Very tiny and cute place, please do not go or I won't be able to enjoy it anymore! It's always a bit of a struggle to find a seat in the unique 12 seat table, but both the random chats naturally occurring and the awesomeness of the food more than make up for it. I had the sope de chamorro and the quesadilla de tinga de pollo with every available seasoning sauce, it was delicious. Service is a bit overwhelmed but means well and is super friendly. Prices are very adequate for the quality. Next to me were two Asian Latinos from Argentina and the DR, two senior officials of the federal police (well national guard now) and a few people speaking different languages, all under the clement weather of the Mexican Highlands. A true...
