From the bustling and vibrant neighborhood of Roma Norte, a fresh culinary star is rising - KASINA CAFE. This recently opened Korean restaurant, perfectly nestled in the heart of Mexico City, offers an unforgettable dining experience that leaves no taste bud untouched. Upon entering KASINA CAFE, guests are welcomed by an ambiance that marries the modern and traditional, capturing the essence of Korea with a sophisticated touch. The place radiates a cozy and warm vibe, which is absolutely conducive to the delightful culinary journey it promises. The shining star of their menu is undoubtedly the BBQ meat. Expertly prepared and grilled to perfection, the meat is succulent and flavorful, beautifully retaining its juiciness while maintaining a wonderfully charred exterior. Each bite is a testament to the restaurant's ability to preserve and elevate authentic Korean BBQ techniques. Their Kimchi Fried Rice is another crowd favorite. KASINA CAFE has managed to masterfully balance the spicy and tangy flavors of kimchi with the comforting notes of well-cooked rice. It is truly a testament to the bold and exciting flavors that Korean cuisine has to offer. This dish does not just satisfy the hunger but also serves as an ultimate comfort food for those longing for authentic Korean flavors. For those who fancy an offbeat pairing, KASINA CAFE offers a selection of delightful orange wines. This somewhat obscure, yet trendy wine is an extraordinary accompaniment to the flavorful Korean dishes. Its robust and fruit-forward profile cuts through the richness of the BBQ meat and compliments the tanginess of the kimchi rice. In conclusion, KASINA CAFE is not just a place to grab a meal. It is an experience – a delightful blend of traditional Korean flavors fused with a unique gastronomic perspective. It's an absolute must-visit for both food connoisseurs and casual diners alike seeking to experience Korean cuisine in a new, refreshing light.

Wow! This was a seriously great dinner. I love Korean food, but perhaps foolishly didn’t expect to find such a fantastic Korean restaurant in CDMX. Nice minimalist decor and friendly and attentive servers welcomed us in. After that the food was exceptional in taste and plating. Prices are more than the CDMX norm, but feel worth it for the experience. We started with the buchu jeon, a Korean chive pancake with shrimp. It had lots of flavor and was a winning appetizer to start the evening. For entrees, I had the bibim bab, always a favorite. The portion was perfectly sized and once I mixed everything together with the kochujang sauce, the taste was fresh and healthy. My partner ordered the jeyuk bokkeum bab: stir-fried pork with rice and steamed bok choy. This was a beautifully plated dish, like a painting in its color and placement. The taste was excellent and on the spicy side, so be forewarned. Last, but not least… even if you are full, you still should try the classic cheesecake for dessert. It just might be the best cheesecake I’ve ever had - and I live in NYC, where it is a perennial favorite. This was an amazing and memorable end of our meal. Kasina Café was a break from all of the great Mexican food we have been eating and an unexpectedly outstanding dinner. Definitely give it a visit!

Underwhelming Korean dishes with a hefty price tag. Kasina was high on my “must-visit” list, but the experience fell a bit short of expectations. Upon arrival, I was acknowledged but without the warmest welcome. I was seated toward the back of the restaurant and handed a menu. Even though I was waiting for someone, they were pushy about getting me to order. When my friend arrived, we placed our order, and our Korean fried chicken was served promptly. The sauce was delicious, and the chicken was fried just right—not overdone. For our main dishes, we ordered kimchi fried rice and bibimbap. The kimchi fried rice was tasty but a bit small in portion, while the bibimbap had an appealing presentation, although the beef portion was disappointingly small. Given the price, the portion sizes felt lacking. We received a few side dishes, including a miso soup that was just average. The service was mediocre, with the servers seeming uninterested. Although the restaurant’s aesthetic was pleasing, the underwhelming food and half-hearted service left me disappointed.
