Layers Sandwichería 🥪 — Restaurant in Mexico City

I recently stopped by Layers for a quick lunch. I ordered an iced matcha latte (which I’d been craving), and it totally hit the spot—made with ceremonial-grade matcha and fresh almond milk from Zana Alquimia. Super refreshing and rich. For food, I asked for their most popular sandwich and ended up with the fried chicken sandwich— Crispy, juicy, and just the right amount of spice from the serrano peppers, all served on the softest, buttery brioche bun (made in-house!) that practically melted with the chicken. I also got to try the Caprese with confit tomatoes, and the pulled pork sandwich, which was perfectly seasoned with a nice kick. For dessert, I had the lotus-filled concha. I’m usually not into filled pastries, but this one changed my mind—it was buttery, soft, and had a silky filling that paired so well with the light, fluffy concha bread. On top of the delicious food, the service was fast and super friendly. The design and vibe of the space are beautiful—thoughtful branding, cozy atmosphere, and a place I could definitely see myself hanging out with friends. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a casual spot with seriously good food made from quality...

I would return! Service 10/10 Atmosphere 10/10 Turkey Sandwich-10/10 Guava Felix-8/10 This place is phenomenal, and I can’t believe it hasn’t gotten more attention yet. Granted it’s only been open a month, but it should have a line out of the door. When I went it was very quiet, which after trying the food, I found astounding. I had the turkey sandwich, which was on some of the best bread I’ve ever had. The savory turkey was offset perfectly by the apple jam. The guava Felix drink I had was also terrific. I was only in Mexico City for a few days, so I had to convince myself not to go back daily so that I could try other spots, but it’s definitely on my list to return to when I’m back...

I had been wanting to check out LAYERS Sandwichería since they opened, and I finally got the chance during a recent trip to Mexico City. I ordered the Fried Chicken sandwich with a Felix guava soda, and it absolutely lived up to the hype! The chicken was tender with the perfect crunch, full of flavor, and served on fresh, delicious bread. I’d been craving this sandwich ever since I saw it on Instagram—and it did not disappoint.

The design and attention to detail in the space is 10/10—warm, inviting, and beautifully done. Best of all, it’s very dog-friendly. They even offer treats for pups!
