STAY:||We stayed 9 days -- I would not recommend this place. The front desk staff were great! They were attentive and understanding, but messages relayed to room service seemed to go unanswered...and management argued with customers when they would complain.||Nearly every day we stayed we asked the front desk for items to service the room. This included refilling the large bottles of shampoo and shower gel, paper towels, and even hotel bath towels. We would ask for these items to be replaced multiple times throughout the day. It was clear the front desk had already relayed the messages but the work was not getting done. ||When I finally got to the point where I messaged management -- management proceeded to argue with me. After asking for shower gel for two days, multiple times per day, I found myself in the shower with nothing to soap myself with. I was told by management that these dispensers would only be filled "at the end of each stay" -- although it didn't appear they had been refilled upon our arrival. In this same response, management said "we have also been informed that some towels have been found to have stains. We ask that you be more careful with them." I told them it was surprising that they only raised this as an issue after I had brought up my other concerns. |||SAFETY CONCERNS:||This hotel is definitely not up to code. There are no fire extinguishers throughout the entire building. I would be concerned that staff are not trained to evacuate guests if there is a real fire. This is a government regulation in...
Read moreWe recently stayed at Casa Cibeles for several nights and would definitely stay there again in future. The location is excellent, a few minutes' walk to the park and surrounded by nearby restaurant options. There's also a fairly large grocery store nearby. We enjoyed the pleasant view of the neighbourhood and the full size fridge with freezer was very useful for drinks and breakfast foods and for keeping our paletas frozen until we were ready to eat them. The hotel seems to be brand new and everything is very well chosen and constructed. The TV is very modern - you can easily sign into apps to stream shows. Our shower had really good water pressure and there is filtered drinking water from a tap in the kitchen. Staff are very kind and friendly. Housekeeping staff do a great job - everything was super clean and tidy. The air conditioner is efficient and quiet - we did use it at night as we didn't want to leave the balcony door open due to some mosquitos and the poor air quality overnight. There's laundry in the basement (free!) and a nice rooftop patio. The nearby club is indeed noisy on weekends, but our room was on the opposite side of the building, so it didn't bother us too much (it might be an issue for light sleepers in the front-facing rooms). The only suggestions I would have for the hotel is to get rid of the fake books and decorations on the table by the front door and to add a comfy chair and light for reading/relaxing (the chairs at the table aren't super...
Read moreThe street facing rooms are LOUD. There is a club or bar that plays music loud enough that you can feel it, wellllll into the early hours of the morning. Maybe 3am?
If you have a kid like us, and need to use a stroller, there are about 6 stairs at the front door. So disabled or parent access can be a little painful if you're coming in and out a few times a day.
Aside from that (earplugs and white noise machine are supplied) the rooms are modern, clean and well appointed.
There's cutlery, pans, glassed, plates, etc.
The TV is a modern smart TV.
Shower water pressure isn't great and the temp is a little inconsistent.
The location is good, close to cafes, bars and restaurants.
Drinking water in the kitchen is a major plus for us.
There are clothes washer and dryer machines free to use.
A small car park, I assume you can book with parking, important to some.
The staff are all lovely and helpful, even when they don't know something, they try to google it or help in some way, instead of shrugging and leaving you...
