CDMX Eats 2024 #52, Mariscos #4: I came here due to the overwhelmingly positive reviews but left underwhelmed.
We ordered a Pacifico $37, Negra Modelo, pescadilla $22, empanada camaron $40, and aguachile atun (habanero y naranja) $180.
The pescadilla is not what we were expecting, but it was pretty good. We meant to order a filetito 😅 The empanada camaron was good, but it wasn't the best we've had (that honor goes to La Ostionería in Del Valle). Lastly, the aguachile atun was a bit smaller than we were hoping and tasted a little different than we expected.
None of the food was bad, but none of it was great. Atmosphere was pretty standard/average with outdoor seating in a nice part of Hipódromo/Condesa. Service was very good. Our server was very attentive, helpful, and personable.
I would personally recommend Marlindo as a better seafood alternative. While it costs a bit more, I think the price is justified and I prefer the food and ambiance. For a cheaper option that I also prefer (though it's a bit further), I'd recommend La Ostionería in Mercado Lázaro Cárdenas in Del Valle.
