I just have one word to describe this place: Marvelous. This place is very well located, right in the middle of la condesa, very close to the nightlife and bars in a busy and alive street by night and by day. This place caught my eyes while walking simply because of their open kitchen where you could see everything that is happening inside with your own eyes. To be honest nothing is better than having pasta freshly made right in front of your eyes, it’s better than any supermarket brand you can buy, so when i saw this with my own eyes i jumped on the occasion to give it a try. The service was quite quick and the personnel was very friendly, the waitress took my order quite promptly and she was bright, full of joy and smiling. Something that is very important to me is cleanliness, the place was indeed clean, nothing to say about it, even the bathroom was clean. During my visit i’ve tried 2 pasta, i’ve had the carbonara and the salmon, here’s what i have to say about it: -The carbonara was not a 100% authentic, as the only difference is that here they use bacon instead of guanciale (before i order it the waiter told me that they use bacon instead of guanciale and if it was okay for me? (i obviously asked why) and he told me that at first they were using it but the locals weren’t liking it so they had to adapt to the locals taste, which makes sens to me), the taste is definitely different for me as a european nevertheless it was still very good, the carbonara sauce was on point. - the salmon was DIVINE. The white sauce that came with the pasta was beautifully seasoned, the salmon’s skin was crispy and cooked the way i wanted (medium). What amazed me even more is the fact that they were not stingy at all with their cheese, my plate was flooded with parmesan (which is my favorite cheese, i would also like to add that most places in mexico city are very fond of portioning, this place is very generous compared to others). Additionally i would like to add that in both dishes the pasta was al dente, most places i’ve visited in la cdmx did not make their pasta al dente, they were mushy and overcooked, so it makes me happy to finally find somewhere in that city that respects the tastes, flavors and values of italian cuisine. Now when it comes to value for money, a pasta dish here can cost you between 150 pesos to 300 pesos, which in my opinion is fair when you see that everything is freshly made of the spot and their portions are quite generous. I wouldn’t recommend this place enough, you have to give it a visit.

Thank you Pasta Comedia for making our CDMX stay special. If you seek a solid and straight Italian food in the heart of hipĆødromo, look no further! It was a lucky strike to stay near it. I walk past it a few times on my way back to my room. Unassuming but really liked its atmosphere reminding me of good neighborhood Italian or French bistros. Their busy kitchen is wide open which show me whatever you’d eat are all made there on the spot. Got me real curious so one time I chatted with a chef (yes you can holler them from the street!) asking him how I’d book a table. His answer: we don’t take reservations. Just come. If we are full, we’d arrange something so don’t worry….. Folks who knows how to treat people would know how to treat foods is my opinion, and I tell you I was not wrong! We enjoyed their octopus aglio e olio and seasonal sundry tomato pasta with a glass of white wine. All their pastas are fresh made in house. The quality of sauce was eye opening. They were fresh and straight. We have visited many high-end restaurants as well as street food spots in CDMX during our visit. While they are amazing, I found their seasonings tend to be too overpowering especially the use of salts. It was so refreshing to taste their sauce which I thought acted like those seasoned supporting actors making the main casts (the pasta) shine without calling for attention. The presentation on the other hand was very festive. The use of their unique pasta bowls helped them be visually appealing as well. Service was also very attentive. Maybe it was so because we went there early evening so it was not crowded. But I saw a full house of happy faces chatting away with their chefs other nights too. They were extremely attentive to my partner’s dietary restrictions. The chef came out to check with us if things are okay. Italian food may not be your first choice when you visit CDMX from overseas. But if you love food, I don’t think you be disappointed trying them out. There are many ways we enjoy dining out. For me, this is a place where I wish I live next door to it back home…..

If you’re craving authentic Italian cuisine in Mexico City, Pasta Comedia is an absolute must-visit! After being overwhelmed by the heavy dishes from other restaurants, Pasta Comedia came as a breath of fresh air with its focus on simplicity, freshness, and quality. The restaurant offers an array of handmade fresh pasta, each one a testament to traditional Italian culinary craft. The ā€˜Spaghetti Aglio e Olio’, a simple but delightful dish of pasta with olive oil and garlic, was a standout. Its flavorful simplicity was the perfect remedy to the rich, heavy meals we had been eating. Adding to the charm of our meal was the ā€˜Insalata di Burrata’ - a delectable Burrata cheese salad that hit just the right note of freshness. Creamy, rich burrata paired with crisp greens provided an excellent balance to the pasta. The meal concluded with the ā€˜Panna Cotta con Frutos Rojos’. This classic Italian dessert, served with a medley of tart and sweet red fruits, was the perfect endnote to a wonderful dining experience. The smooth, creamy panna cotta paired with the freshness of the fruits was sublime. One of the highlights of our visit was meeting the owner, Jack. His dedication to providing an authentic and enjoyable dining experience was evident, making our meal all the more memorable. In summary, Pasta Comedia provided us with the best meal we’ve had in Mexico City. It is a gem that truly encapsulates the essence of Italian cooking. With its simple yet delicious dishes and friendly service, it is a definite must-try when in the city!
