Yesterday, we had lunch with four children and two adults. The price range is high for the level of service provided. Our waiter, Luis, was quite young and failed to bring our orders on time, despite the restaurant not being busy at 1 pm.
The situation worsened after 2 pm when the back of the restaurant became crowded with families and young children. It was particularly concerning to have hot portable grills near the tables with children running around, posing a safety risk.
The food was mediocre, and I found the prices to be excessive, especially considering there are more consistent and flavorful options in the southern part of the city, such as Piantao, or, acfross all the city, any Cambalache/Puerto Madero. Even The Palm at the Intercontinental Hotel offers much better service, space, and food, with comparable pricing. Unless you specifically want to take your children to the playground they have there and are willing to accept the risks associated with the hot grills scattered around, I recommend the tastier and better options mentioned above. Also, consider that on weekends, the place is extremely crowded and becomes a nightmare. There are lots of people, and the service is slow and inefficient. It is not worth the hype, trust me. We wanted a bottle of Fauno wine, but it wasn't available. We ordered a New York steak, octopus ceviche, sweetbreads, and the kids had spaghetti Bolognese and lasagna. The waiter was confused and served the wrong flavor of ice cream to my kids. The restaurant charged me for both the incorrect and correct flavors. The service was so slow that I preferred to leave rather than wait for the check to...
Read moreWe decided to have some thing other than Mexican food while in Mexico City at our last evening. We decided to go to this Argentinian restaurant. The atmosphere is elegant. We chose to sit in the outdoor seating area unfortunately we were bit by mosquitoes. Our waiter was very professional and attentive. They had excellent wine selection as well as alcoholic beverages. There was only two of us, but yet we still chose to go with the grilled meats options, which comes with five variety of cuts. Rib meat, filet mignon, sirloin, and flank steak. Our waiter warned us that that will be too much food, but we insisted and he was absolutely right. We also ordered a baked potato and a cream spinach. Cream spinach is the style in which the spinach leaves are left in tact as opposed to someplace in the US where the spinach is finely chopped. The meat was served over a hot charcoal grill that was brought to our table. If you choose to keep the meat warm or cook it further you can because the grill is hot enough to cook on it. My favorite meat turned out to be the rib meat as it is more fatty, and it was well salted. Filet mignon was good and lean as it should be. None of the meat were marinated. I believe the only marinade used was salt pepper in some garlic. they also asked us if we wanted to get local Mexican meat or import meat. After inquiry, I discovered that import means US imported meat. We chose the local meet and it...
Read moreWow. Where to start. The service was poor and anytime we needed anything, even a menu, we had to get the attention of the waiters after many tries. The play area didn't have much for kids to do. It looks cool but it doesn't sustain their attention. The food was very basic and didn't have much flavor. The kids food was very sad. At the end, the waiter made my friends tip over 51% and we had to convince him his math was wrong. We intended on leaving 10%. He didn't let me use his pen to explain so I used my own pen. I don't think he expected me to have a pen with me. He refunded the over charged tip in cash. The atmosphere in general was loud and hectic. The restaurant is in a good location but I don't understand why anyone goes here. It felt like a roadside tourist...
