It's always a good sign to see a busy seafood restaurant, and this spot didn't disappoint. My friend did all of the ordering, so I'm not 100% certain on what the dishes were called -but they were all delicious.
The fried fish dish was great, along with the fish tacos and the other deep fried thing we tried. Also, I was hesitant to eat the shrimp cocktail -but was relieved the next day when I did not get sick.
My local friend said that this was one of his favorite spots, and I could tell that he was not alone in that statement. It was busy when we visited on Saturday, and also still busy when I walked by the following Wednesday on my way to the Frida Kahlo house.
Their selection of Mexican hot sauces at the table was unparalleled compared to every other CDMX restaurant I visited. I tried at least 8 different hot sauces, but there were more available.
If you don't want to be bothered by street merchants asking you to buy stuff while eating, I would recommend sitting away from the...
Read moreTostadas were delicious and the shrimp cocktail very fresh and a fair portion. Great location right on the corner outside Mercado 89 (Coyoacan market).
Can you find cheaper?....Yes of course, but from what I have had in the Coyoacan area the flavor is just not the same. If the prices are too high for your liking, go right inside the market and you can get tostadas for half the price, but in my opnion half as good and MUCH smaller with less shrimp and very little avacado. Coyoacan in general is about 50% more expensive then many places in CDMX, it is a tourist spot for sure. Know this before visiting.
The wait staff is friendly, attentive, and fast. Always a smile and concern about your needs.
For 2 tostadas, a small cocktail, a soda, and a beer my total was $290 pesos- right about $15. I would have paid ALOT more than that back home...
Read moreI've read a lot of the reviews on this place and frankly the sad and bitter 1 star reviews should be ignored. Complaining about the price when it's clearly marked on the menu! It's not a surprise, if you don't like the price don't eat the food and certainly don't complain about it being expensive and give it a 1 star review. You sat down, you read the menu, you saw the price, you ate the food and only then are shocked it is expensive for you? Secondly I only tried one thing on the menu a grilled cod bun starter and it was delicious and the correct amount of food. The service was fast and it wasn't just tourists here, everyone around me was happily eating. It doesn't deserve a 3.3 star rating imo it's better than that. Nobody should want to eat cheap fish...
