I recently had the privilege of taking a guided tour of Teotihuacán and the Basilica of the Virgen of Guadalupe with Rocio, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. As a solo traveler, I often approach group tours with a bit of hesitation, but from the outset, Rocio’s warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail put me completely at ease. Her thoughtful gesture of volunteering to take photos for me at key moments made a significant difference—it was more than just kindness; it was a reminder that I wasn’t alone in the experience.
Rocio’s depth of knowledge was immediately apparent. She guided us through each site with clarity and enthusiasm, weaving together the historical, cultural, and spiritual significance of both Teotihuacán and the Basilica in a way that was both intellectually rich and emotionally resonant. Her ability to contextualize ancient civilizations and religious traditions in a way that felt relevant and alive is a rare gift.
Equally impressive was Rocio’s ability to read the group and respond to individual needs. She moved seamlessly between explanation, logistics, and conversation, always ensuring that everyone felt included and comfortable. Her kindness wasn’t performative—it was natural and consistent, the mark of someone who genuinely enjoys her work and values the experience of her guests.
As someone who has traveled extensively, I can confidently say that Rocio is among the very best guides I’ve ever encountered. Her combination of intelligence, grace, and interpersonal skill transformed a standard tour into a deeply memorable journey. She doesn’t just recite facts; she crafts a shared experience that lingers long after the day is done.
Rocio represents the very best of what cultural tourism can be. She is a superb ambassador for her country and an asset to any organization lucky enough to count her among its team. I hope her excellence is recognized and rewarded—she deserves to be promoted and entrusted with even greater...
Read moreI highly recommend this activity as a must-do for anyone visiting Mexico City. I booked my tour through toursbylocals and was fortunate enough to have an incredibly helpful and informative guide named Arturo Ramirez. The tour was fantastic, professional, and Arturo’s English was fluent. Since I was on a multi-lingual tour, I felt very accommodated and well-cared for.
As someone with a limited understanding of Meso-American culture, I was impressed by Arturo’s extensive knowledge and fascinating insights. The pyramids themselves are awe-inspiring, and photographs simply cannot capture their grandeur. The basilica stood out as an intriguing juxtaposition of modern Mexican architecture and European colonial architecture.
I cannot recommend this specific tour more highly. The value for money was excellent, the guide was superb, and I firmly believe that Teotihuacan is a must-see destination for any traveler visiting...
Read moreWe traveled to Mexico for a 40th birthday trip and celebrated with a day tour to the hot air balloons and to the pyramids of Teotihuacan Our tour guide Raul was wonderful! Although we had an only slept for a couple of hours before beginning our journey at 5 am, Raul’s enthusiasm for historical information and the history of Mexico kept us awake and engaged despite how tired we were. After the balloon ride, he arranged for the restaurant where we had breakfast to set up birthday balloons for our friend. He was incredibly attentive and patient with us as he tried to keep the 7 of us together at the pyramids, even when one of our group members wasn’t feeling well. He was incredibly knowledgeable and kept the same engaging and attentive energy throughout! We had a great time with Raul and Bolmaro. Thanks for making our friends birthday a...
