Ola Mulata at Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta — Restaurant in Nayarit

This was the highest priced restaurant (because I ordered the fish if the day) that we ate at during our stay and it was absolutely worth it. Nice place right on the edge of the beach with attentive staff. We had their nachos, ceviche, and the fish of the day. Both the nachos and cerviche were good. The fish of the day was delicious. It's a whole fish that is baked and butterflied and they remove most of the bones. Its not very fishy and is seasoned great and is served with rice and a salad. It cost around $425 pesos but it was worth it. So highly recommended.

The smell was fantastic and reason why we decided to eat there. We ordered the red snapper zarandeado. For the price per kilo we paid, you would think that they would remove the fish scales, pay more attention to the fish preparation for all to be enjoyed but it was all left on. I haven’t been to any other restaurants where to fish scales were left on. That enough alone changed the way we normally get it and skin was thrown away cause of it. Also, service moved so slow. Took forever to get refills cause ice melts so fast. There’s definitely some room for service improvement. I would definitely not order...

If you are staying at the Vidanta Resort in Neuvo Vallarta, don't overlook Ola Mulata, a small but cozy beach bar/restaurant facing the wide beach and ocean. The resort has a number of excellent restaurants where you will spend mucho $$ for glorious meals, but if you want something simpler, in a gorgeous setting - this is for you.
