A Disappointing Farewell in Bucerías

Our last night in Bucerías had us eagerly anticipating a memorable dinner at a restaurant that came highly recommended. We had heard that the food was excellent—albeit pricey, particularly the drinks—and we were excited to experience it firsthand. We made a reservation and arrived early, only to be seated at what could only be described as the best table in the house. Perched on the terrace with a breathtaking view of the water, we could hear the waves gently crashing against the shore. It was almost perfect.

We were a party of six and began the evening with high hopes. Our waiter was initially very attentive, checking in on us promptly and taking our drink orders. Drinks arrived swiftly, and we were still feeling optimistic.

We ordered appetizers, salads, and main courses, expecting the usual smooth flow of a well-managed restaurant. But what followed was a series of frustrating delays. Two of us received our salads, while the rest of us got our appetizers—but no one seemed to know what was going on with the remaining orders. We watched as the ingredients for one Caesar salad sat untouched on a table for over twenty minutes, just waiting to be prepared table-side. Our waiter eventually came to address it, his explanation for the delay was new staff and they were busy...

As time passed, the service became increasingly lackluster. More food came out, but it wasn’t synchronized, and our group was left picking at appetizers while others waited for their main courses. Did I mention we were still waiting for one more ceasar salad, the ingredients for this one eventually came after a few of the main courses were being placed on the table. The longer we waited, the more the initial excitement faded into disappointment. When the food finally arrived, the quality didn’t make up for the service shortcomings, they were COLD! While the dishes looked good, they didn’t justify the steep prices, especially given they were cold. Sadly one main course also didn't arrive, same person that waited for their ceasar salad. We brought our concerns to who we believed was the manager, they were met with attitude and a complete disregard for our experience being so poor.

By this time we were ready to leave, the atmosphere had shifted from relaxed to extremely frustrating. What should have been a memorable final meal of our trip ended up feeling like a missed opportunity. It’s unfortunate, because the location and the initial service showed so much promise.

In the end, we walked away feeling that the restaurant’s reputation may have been overstated, and that the price tag didn’t align with the service or experience we received. We certainly won’t be rushing back on our next visit...

Si Señor Bucerias has completely redefined my expectations for Mexican seafood. From the moment we walked in, the service was impeccable – attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. Our server went above and beyond to ensure we had a perfect dining experience. And if you're looking for dinner with a breathtaking sunset view, this is the place to be.

The drinks were expertly crafted and refreshing, the perfect complement to the incredible food. And speaking of food, the seafood was unbelievably fresh. You could taste the ocean in every bite. But the real star of the show? The table-side guacamole. Watching it being made fresh, with the perfect blend of ingredients, was a culinary spectacle. It was, without a doubt, the best guacamole I've ever had.

The entire atmosphere was vibrant and lively, creating a truly memorable evening. Si Señor Bucerias is a must-visit for anyone looking for exceptional Mexican cuisine, a stunning sunset, and a truly five-star...

I was out for an evening walk on the beach and saw this place along the way. It looked very nice and inviting. So I entered from the beach side and walked through to the front to read the menu. I love seafood, so I had to give it a try! Plus the staff seemed warm and welcoming. I was seated where I could view the last of the sunset and watch and listen to the waves. I ordered a grilled octopus dish & one of their signature cocktails. Everything was delicious! Service was fantastic! The interior decor was very modern & tastefully done, while also keeping a bit of rustic tradition. My server, Joshua, was kind and everyone there assisted him to provide great service all along the way. They went above and beyond....
