We booked a table at Si Señor for a friend’s birthday and called ahead to make sure everything was set. The location is beautiful and hearing the ocean at night was lovely — but unfortunately, the service completely ruined the experience.
It took forever to even get our drinks and appetizers. (The guacamole was great, for what it’s worth.) We had to ask for silverware after our starters were served, and didn’t get napkins until the entrees arrived. Our server seemed annoyed the entire time — making faces while we ordered and sighing.
My friend ordered the lobster and steak, but it came out completely overcooked. She sent it back and asked for something else, but the server disappeared for 15 minutes, so we ended up sharing our food with her.
At the end of the night, they turned the lights off twice without any verbal notice — clearly trying to push us out — even though we were polite and understanding throughout. As we stood up to leave, our server grabbed the bill and opened it immediately to check the tip, while we were still getting our things together.
The only bright spot was another server who brought out the birthday dessert (dry chocolate cake) — he was fantastic and should be recognized. Otherwise, the food was just okay, and the experience felt more like a tourist trap than anything special. Wish we had paid more attention to the other reviews. Very...
Read moreCareful. Serious Food Poisoning! My wife had the Lobster Enchilada, which was okay overall but there is no real reason to pay 25 Dollar for an Enchilada if you do not taste the Lobster. I had the Catch of the Day. It came with vegetables (mostly just paprika), which were way too oily. The fish was a bit burned and clearly not good. At first, I noticed only a tickling sensation on the palate to which I did not pay much attention; then while still at the restaurant a headache started (which I never had from food before). The rest of the evening I am spending now in the hotel bathroom and my wife is doing a late night shopping trip to the pharmacy. Nice side experience was the waiters' behavior at the payment. Apparently, their card reader doesn't allow less than 15% tip. Considering the food quality, I told him that we will do it cash, I rounded our bill up (to 11% tip), which led to the waiter leaving our table without even acknowledging us with another word. So, overall you have a nice ambiance at this place and most waiters are doing a fine job. But paying more than double than in all other places - for ending up with food poisoning and waiters that lack manners is really not something to recommend. Definitely should have read other Google reviews before we...
Read moreI rarely give bad reviews but our experience tonight warrants one. We had a reservation for 8pm, but all the tables were taken when we arrived and we had to wait until 8:30 to be sat. We decided to go grab drinks at the bar while we waited and stood at the bar for 15 minutes before anyone took our order. Then, with one of the cocktails, the bartender ran a bit short on Torres when the bottle ran out, and rather than going to grab another bottle and make the drink with the same amount of liquor as all the other ones, he simply filled it up with coke and I guess hoped that we didn’t notice. We did. Once we were finally sat, the food took a little while to come out and to be honest, the service was not good. We rarely had our server come by to ask if we needed anything and had to constantly flag people down to get us napkins, drinks, etc. The food was fine, but not wow. You’re paying for the location. It’s a beautiful and unique spot on the water, but I understand now why the reviews weren’t very good. Pretty bad service/experience unfortunately and a little over priced. There are plenty of great spots in town that are a better...
