Ugh, food was good, but they absolutely didn’t seem to like the fact that we were there. We arrived at 5:30pm, and it felt like they were closed. No one greeted us, so we approached the waiter to ask if it was open and he stated without any welcome that if the door is opened it’s opened. There was never any welcoming or ever a smile. We were the only ones there. After we ordered, we had to ask for plates and napkins. No one on the staff paid any attention to us nor did they make us feel welcome. We felt like intruders into their own little world. The food was ok particularly the garnaches, but the relleno and their tamale tasted dry and tasteless. It was a disappointment, not only the service (the waiter Enrique, was never friendly or smiled) It took more than 50 minutes to bring us the drinks. They brought us the food at the wrong time and it was cold. No napkins or cutlery in our table. What they say is “gorditas” are really sopes with hard edges. It was a birthday and although we brought the cake ourselves, the waiter brought it from the kitchen with everything inside the bag… and with the plastic lid and he did not light the candle for us. Very sad. I understand that it was a special holiday but if you are not able to manage all those costumer, better not to accept...
Read moreStumbled into this place by chance after exploring Oaxaca most of the day. Really glad we found this beautiful little sanctuary. Had the pleasure of trying crickets for the first time in a Guacamole. Which was absolutely delicious. Ate the lot.
Hearty good food and wonderful decoration. With wonderful hosts and hostesses. Serving the best hot chocolate in Oaxaca. And that’s saying something since had a lot of hot chocolate in Oaxaca.
