Gourmand Delicatessen — Restaurant in Oaxaca

After visiting over eight times in three weeks, my feelings are mixed. They serve what is some of the best food in Oaxaca; their meats and cheeses are devine. Though, I got food poisoning here once, believed to be from poorly managed potato salad. I still returned twice more, but it ruined the experience.

The service is great, but they are OCD about me wearing a specific type of mask that they sell. I have a mask that I’ve worn on several airplanes with no problem, but it isn’t good enough for them. I asked for a table near the door, but they insist that I first pay to buy their specific mask, before I can sit down... and then take off the mask to eat anyway.

I stopped visiting when I lost their special mask, taking my business elsewhere, to avoid buying another one. Every other resturant I’ve been to in Mexico accepts my mask; only...

Second time there and still bad service, it seems the persons doing service doesn't want to work there, any questions feels like you bother them and the recommendations were bad, the sandwich was far from tasty i actually couldn't eat half of it. Maybe I'll follow the recommandations of the guests and try the reuben sandwich next time but there's zero interest to come back for the service.

The fine grocery part that includes a nice selection of artesanal beers, meat and cheese ( even if a bit more expensive than other places in town that have similar offers) looks good but the way they use those and the service coming with, doesn't reach or respect the same quality of those products.

This was the best breakfast I have had in Mexico. It was the best breakfast I've had in Canada in the past year. It was the best breakfast I've had anywhere in the past year.

I had an traditional eggs benedict and it was nearly perfect. The Taste was Exquisite. The eggs are organic they prepare the Hollandaise sauce almost to order fresh it is not made from a mix. It is served on a biscuit that is made in the house.

The Benedict was accompanied by a salad that was absolutely once again perfect.
