If you want very basic accommodations and a good location this might be your place.||This is definitely a no frills location.||Unfortunately there were a few issues in my stay and some were resolved and some were not.Example-The additional lock on my door was not working and the fix only lasted a few hours and went back to not working.||Maid’s key were left in my door one day,the remote to the AC was missing when I checked in,the cold water they only provided up front after your initial free 2 water bottles was often empty.Very annoying if you are leaving for an all day tour and were counting on that.||Some reviews say manager was accommodating, but I found the opposite to be true. The setup in reception is very cold and inhospitable with one person sitting behind a glass partition and letting people in and out remotely. We are Way past Covid days,so why does this persist?||I know some will find my critical comments as those of a spoiled American Tourists, but I feel you should know what you are getting when you book this location I could care less that there is no TV,but how about a light over the bed you can actually read by or a small bedside lamp?||Here are some easy tips to making this place a gem instead of just a deal:||-Towels look as though they have been used for years and smell musty even when newly replaced.Just update your towels.||-shower only has one soap which is a body wash and not a shampoo. Why not add that?||-closet only had 4 hangers.Just add a few.||-No Kleenex provided in room.||-No hand cream in bathroom.||-Sheets on the bed are very low quality.Just replace them more often and upgrade one level up at a bare minimum.||-Lights are very low intensity and my room at least had virtually no natural light.Very dark.||A few other tips.||There is No in room safe,so your passport etc have to be stored up front in reception and that is inconvenient if you like to take a minimum amount of money with you daily.||The street in front is loud and busy so ask for a room in the back.||If you are a big coffee drinker, the coffee machine is in front as well, nothing in the room.||Gardens for the hotel are beautiful so that is a big positive for this location with chairs for sitting out in the morning and evening.||Booking.com rates this hotel as Very Good, and it has too many issues for that kind of rating.I would rate it Average or good if location, price and cleanliness are all you need to be...

Read moreI wanted to write this review because other people may see their site and read the great reviews and not know what they’re getting. The price is good. The staff was nice and accommodating. But this was more of a hostel level stay. That’s fine, but I don’t think the photos were at all representative of our room. ||We booked a ‘superior king room’ for 6 nights. The layout of our room was extremely awkward and claustrophobic (not one of the rooms in the photos). In general it never felt very clean. We had to go outside to get on the wifi. ||The room was always hot and stuffy. There’s no ac (not their fault, I should have checked! But the fan in our room was broken and wouldn’t oscillate. We had to keep our curtains open for airflow, so we had no privacy). The bed was the hardest bed I’ve ever slept on. It felt like the fake mattresses in department stores. Like I laughed when I sat down. ||The ‘eco friendly’ (which was a selling point for me) probably referred to the fact that they didn’t provide toiletries. Fair enough. But they provided only one public restroom hand soap dispenser in the shower, nothing else. ||We talked several times about cutting our losses and looking for another hotel in town. But we’d paid in full so we stayed. ||High points—the gardens were beautiful. The fact that they offered a large water cooler to fill up your bottles was great and should be the norm! The staff was very nice. If you’re not planning on spending any time in your room and are only looking for a home base, it’s probably perfect. It’s a close walk to everything. It just wasn’t...
