Amorino — Restaurant in Playa del Carmen

We recently stayed in Playa del Carmen for a week and this wonderful shop was our go-to stop for gelato or sorbet every day. There are many gelato & sorbet shops in Playa, but we found the greatest choices of flavors here, all delicious. My partner was never a sorbet fan before (he always preferred gelato), but after his first experience with 3 fabulous flavors of sorbet at Amorino, he was converted and we ordered those flavors every day after that! The coffee is good too.

Great location on a lively corner of Avenida 5 and Calle 28. Super friendly staff and plenty of comfortable seating. It's a busy shop but never felt crowded and we never had to wait long to be served. See you next...

TL;DR Great ice cream, kind staff, and although a bit pricey - a must in Playa del Carmen.

I stopped by spontaneously to have an ice cream in the middle of the fifth avenue, and although the price is a bit high - I gave it a chance.

The place offers an extensive selection of flavours to choose (and each one of them feels like you eat the ingredient itself!), the staff is very kind and they gave me as many samples as I wanted.

Finally I chose the dark chocolate and the pistachio.. the pistachio is a life changer, you must give it a try!

I just spent two weeks in Italy and I had Gelato almost every day while I was there so I know how REAL gelato should look and taste. The quality at Amorino rivals what I had in Italy. I tried the chocolate, dolce de leche, and amarena. They were all DELICIOUS.

I have to be honest and say that the macaroon was not good. It texture if the outside was very moist to the point that my fingers went through it as I tried to eat it.
