Chan Pan — Restaurant in Playa del Carmen

This is a family-run restaurant that serves authentic Mexican cuisine. I ordered the huevos divorciados which are eggs sunny side up served on top of tostadas with frijoles, salsa verde and roja. I also tried their tacos dorados con pollo. Everything was made from scratch and absolutely delicious. The owner of the restaurant who served us is so friendly and made sure we were well taken care of. If you have a chance, do take the time to admire the beautiful mural in the restaurant, it belongs to the owner and was painted by a member of her family - the details and symbolism are fascinating. We had a great experience starting with the warm welcome and attentiveness from Tania, the owner. The food was very flavorful and they serve super generous portions. We came as a family of 5, and we each ordered a plate of food, drinks (coffee, milkshake, chocolate milk, bottled water), and we were super satisfied and even took leftovers. The total bill came to $40usd or about $8 bucks per person (plus tip). Super family friendly... very cute and cozy! Great place for breakfast. So far, have tried omelette to order, French toast, fresh squeezed OJ and fruit plate. All were great...and going to try one of their sandwiches next.
