My friend wrote a review and I was not going to bother but after the ownerâs response, I feel compelled to.
I understand that coffee is different all over the world, and so when I asked for a double shot latte and was told that the latte was made with filter coffee I just responded âwell can I have a latte with espresso instead?â The owner then responded that what I wanted was a cappuccino. Because cappuccinos often times have dry foam I never get themâso I asked if the milk would be very foamy. I swear, I was not bitchyâI was legit trying to understand what I would be ordering because I know I am picky with my coffee. She explained how it was made there and I ended up getting a cappuccino with less milk in it. The coffee was not horrible. I definitely finished it. What was uncalled for was the attitude of the owner. After reading through other reviews I realize that my friend and I are not the only ones who feel she is rude.
If you own a business, it should not be wrong for a customer to ask questions about the products being offered. We are spending our money and should know what we will be getting when we place an order. I am unsure why asking questions was seen as being rude (as the owner responded) because I NEVER told her how to make a coffeeâI simply asked for clarification on what was being offered.
Ultimately, no matter how good a product is, I will not spend money in an establishment where I feel unwelcome. As there are other reviews stating that the owner is rude, perhaps she should see where she can improve her customer service skills to avoid...
Read moreWas quite excited to try their bread only to find that it was legitimately HARD AS A ROCK. As soon as I got in the house I wanted to make a sandwich only to find that I couldn't even use 2 different knives to cut through the bread. Seriously felt like I was putting a stone on my counter.
I politely called the place to see what the German Lady could do only to find her quite rude when I told her I was just in her shop and the bread is a bit hard. She instantly turned rude and said "It is my most sold bread" "It is made fresh each day" "The bread is NOT hard" "If you don't like it come back for a refund". I guess the refund part was the most pleasant but I was honestly looking for a good customer solution to a very tiny problem such as "Sorry about that we could refund you or swap you a new bread" but at this point she was already rude and I wanted my refund. I was seriously looking forward to supporting this business and passing word around since that's what we do in the expat community but I WILL make sure NOT to recommend this...
Read moreOnly two stars because it's simply not a German bakery. I am German and I can guarantee that the bread doesn't even come close to the German Standart. We have bought a whole bread with seeds for the family but it's toast bread, very soft. For toast bread it's nice but you can't relate it to German bread at all. Also Cinnamon rolls are perhaps Swedish and not German and as far as I know red velvet cakes are from the US, have never seen it in Germany. The staff is also not German. The store looks nice, clean and tidy and I really much like the interior and if you like cakes in general, go ahead and try it, we haven't as I know that none of what I have seen so far is German, but if you really want proper, healthy German bread then I am afraid you gotta travel to Germany or to any of the German bakeries in Australia for example. We have also bought homemade peanut butter, which...
