GREAT SEAFOOD! Food was delicious and came out on time. Only down side was the saltiness. 2-3 dishes were over salted to the point that they were almost inedible. The seafood broth tht was brought out was one of them. Love the flavors of the sea. The shrimp, fish and crab was great, but they over salted the broth. The tostadas and fried shrimp were GREAT! Would highly recommend for people to try them out .

Service was quick and prompt . We came during the low season for tourism, on a Tuesday evening. There were probably 10 guests in the whole establishment.

Now off to the drinks. Great selection of cocktails and beers. From local beers to artisan beers, they had a solid selection. Cocktails could have used a bit more booze.

As for the prices, you’re in the touristy part of town 1-2 blocks from the beach. You’re gonna pay about $2 USD per beer and about $6 USD per dish. Can you get food cheaper in the area? Sure, but this is worth EVERY Penny. Once they fix the salt levels in the food, would gladly give them 5 stars, but for now, a solid 4 stars.

(Bonus: all sauces were made in house and...

In the heart of Playa del Carmen is Las Horas de la Tostada. Best vantage point to view the 5th avenue while it's raining like cats and dogs and some. Had dinner here with two amazing dishes. Ceviche Tropical and Camaron Caramelo. The ceviche was fresh with Mahi Mahi cubes and to sweeten it all were the sweet mangoes. And then the fried crispy prawns called as Camaron Caramelo which is a very sexy name for fried prawns with a sauce which is sweet and creamy at the same time. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and ended it with a fresh cup of espresso. Would recommend to anyone spending time at Playa del Carmen! [Slight addition: though everything was amazing, the payment was a bit odd. First the server brought the receipt with tax in addition to the prices of the stuff we ate. Plus he also by default added 15% tip and put that amount in the credit card machine. I may have given 15% my self because of the good service but I didn't like being...

I've been to a lot of eating places in the 5th Av. area and this IMHO is by far the best bang for the buck! First the food is incredibly fresh, delicious, beautifully constructed with many options not just Tostadas, then the portions are very generous, thick seared tuna slices not paper thin like other places, big tostadas, just look at the photos, and finally excellent prices. The place is very nice and located in the newest (nicest) area of the 5th, cosy with excellent service, nice bar with beverage prices on par of most places here, standard for foreign tourists but expensive if you live by with Pesos. Dafne our server suggested the chocolate cake for dessert and it was decadent, thank you Dafne! Great coffee too. My apologies for the bitten tostada photo but when I saw the food I dove right into it, I also had a Tuna chorizo taco but was gone before I realized that I didn't took a photo of...

Was drawn to this place from its inclusion on a number of ‘must try’ lists. This location is very central, easy to pop in, and the size means that (at this time of year at least) it isn’t crowded at all. Service is kind and attentive. The food itself was fine & everything is well kept, but you could find the same stuff for a fraction of the cost off the main drag (eg ceviche at Pirata). Seating up top to take in a bit of a view would have been preferable and perhaps improved the overall experience, compared to by the bar (when the whole place was empty around 3pm). Solid meal overall, would go back in a pinch but likely to want to explore other places instead.
