I went there yesterday. There was good music. Great atmosphere. Until they opened the 2nd floor and everybody wanted to go up there. The person in charge of letting people go upstairs was making a selection, meaning he was choosing single people only to go there or his friends. At one point I even though he was racist. I asked to go up and he kept telling me to wait, at one point I asked if one day he was going to let me go up, he refused saying that I was bothering him, I explained I had a friend upstairs who didn't spoke spanish and that I was worried for him since he was about tipsy, he told me that he couldn't care less, I told him it's not okay to separate group of friends (my boyfriend and I were downstairs). I felt that he though I was mexican and was only letting "white people" go upstairs. Sorry but I did paid my way to mexico from Canada and I should be able to go upstairs like other tourists. Plus I have no mexican blood. Like...am tanned because of my origins... You cannot refuse access to someone. Otherwise I agree with the other comments that informs people that this isn't a safe place as it was really dark and weird street. It was free entry + on ladies night (like yesterday) was free alcohol for women. I would recommend to go to the Ambasada which is 100 pesos per guys for entry and free for girls, way more safe, many agents looking around and looking on deunk people to make sure you are safe etc + it is way bigger, it's like a huge thing, great music and 2 floors but like 4 times the...
Read moreI was really craving to dance to some GOOD tech house and man did this place deliver. The venue gets crowded but I made my peace with that because any good club, anywhere, will get crowded. That's the sign of a good establishment, people want to be there. I danced at the rooftop section until my legs were jello. Both of the acts they had on were outstanding. Fluid transitions with minimal breaks, the beats per minute were maintained at the right level for maximum fun. Are you at Playa del Carmen and jonesing to get your dance on to some tech house? Go here. Find you a spot on the floor to get your boogie on and have an absolute blast like I did. If I'm back in PDC I will 100% go here again and I'll bring you too if your vibrations are good.
Other observations: -I think we could have saved $100 pesos by buying a wristband on the street instead of paying $200 at the door but that was fine. Still outstanding value. -The place does not have a fire exit so if there was an emergency, I think it would be trouble, something the venue should consider installing because there's only one way out for everyone. When exiting the rooftop you have to go down through the main floor club which was equally packed if not, more so than the rooftop (main floor plays reggaeton and when we were leaving at 2:05am there was early 2000s top 40 on so the ultra basic guys and gals on that floor were having the times of their lives, which was...
Read moreDon't go here. It's not safe and they still your phone. The club staff is in on it. They are not honest and they are all in on it. Watch you things and if you have a purse or pouch, keep an eye on it. They went into my purse while I was dancing and stole my phone.
I am not sure what they get out of stolen phones but here is how you affect people when you do that especially when they're in a foreign country You can't access your bank accounts online because they need to verify with your phone number. Can't access any of my emails because they need to send a code to your phone number which I can't get because some loser stole my phone
Can't get access to your hotel bookings because you don't have a way to get to it
Your basically screwed on your entire trip all because someone is so selfish and wants to steal
I pray that karma and God to have their revenge on the thieves...
