Son Jarochos Marisquería — Restaurant in Playa del Carmen

I wanted to like this place after reading all the reviews. I was craving Mariscos and this place seemed like a must go to! It was definitely not. Breakdown Service: there was only one person and it took about 10 minutes for him to take our order and about another 15 minutes for it to come out. I ordered a beer and he brought me a miche. Having to wait so long I just drank the miche. Food came out at a decent time so no issues there. Our server was very nice though!

Food: This was my real issue serving was not great but it would of been worth it if the food was good. Ceviche - Marlin with pulpo- no flavor and the serve said he was going to bring me hot sauce for it and never came back. Oysters a la Diabla- same thing they looked yummy but absolutely no flavor at all

Shrimp tacos from the appetizer menu these were actually really good and I wish the rest of the food would of had flavor like them.

We were going to order full meals but I’m glad we stopped after the appetizers. Maybe I ordered the wrong items from here but it was a disappointment and not worth the wait...

Looking at the reviews, we decided to try it out. We almost turned around when we walked up. As the reviews say, the seating area is on a covered patio. We had the choice to go across the street or eat here. We are more of a local culture type people. I can say that this place is worth it!!! The food and service was amazing. We tried Son Jarochos as a late night snack. We ordered a shrimp ceviche and octopus taco. The ceviche tasted great. The ingredients and shrimp were very fresh and had a ton of flavor. The octopus taco was good, the meat was cooked well. I would definitely try the full octopus dish here as well I'd recommend coming here to try other seafood dishes. They make a good mojito.
