The Admiral Sports Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Playa del Carmen

This is a very good bar, an oasis away from the taco city. Unfortunately no brat, so had meatballs instead. Not the best. Drinks are very nice and a reasonable price. The lack of 5 stars is one of my favourite gripes. 25% off if you pay cash. It's clearly stated on the menu there and online.......only for food apparently. These are the sneaky cons I despise. Say FOOD ONLY FFS. Had a reply to this review and frankly I don't give a sausage about a free brat, and it was my wife who had the meatballs not me. She never complains about anything, being British. None of that matters what matters is the deceiving nature of 25% off cash. No it does not state food only, See your menu. I think you're very clever regarding this as, like me, people will pay in cash not card thinking it's all 25%. Nice move. Cash rules. As for me being the only one to notice I'm probably the only one to bother to pick up on it. Finally even when I paid cash I was billed for 100% of drinks and food. In summary, it's 25% off only food and only if you're clever enough to notice and have to dispute about it.

Following the kind offer of a full refund, thank you, but that's not what I'm about. As I said in the review it's a very good bar and the gripe can easily be fixed for future guests. As for the service error I don't blame yourself and the longer I stay in this area the more it's actually normal for these 'errors' to occur. All the best for your excellent bar...

I rarely leave reviews but I think this one is warranted. I was looking for a place to watch the PPV Jake Paul/Nate Diaz fight and this place was recommended to me in the Playa Del Carmen Facebook. I’m super glad I chose to come here!

Upon entering, my wife and I were greeted by the Admiral himself. The dude shook our hand and even gave us a hug lol. There was no cover charge to watch the PPV. The atmosphere made me feel like I wasn’t in Mexico and was transported to a European pub. The server was amazing. The food was well priced and EXCELLENT. We were there for hours watching the fights, so the server eventually gave us a couple free drinks.

I would definitely recommend this spot for anyone looking for a great experience in PDC, especially if you want to watch some sort of sporting event, the Admiral will accommodate you. Will definitely be coming back....

This was quite a hike from where we stayed at El Taj but we wanted to try it due to numerous positive reviews. Margarita & sangria to drink & they were fine. Hubby had fish & chips; fish was strong tasting; fries were good-hand cut! I had chicken schnitzel with mashed, gravy & apple bacon sauerkraut, which was tasty-meat would have been dry without the sides. Portions were good. One small thing, menu advertised 25% off for cash & while we did receive a discount it wasn't 25%, closer to 20. Given all the great reviews we weren't entirely satisfied, perhaps even slightly disappointed. Still, we'd go again if we stayed closer as it was familiar comfort food with...
