Carnitas Merchant — Restaurant in Playa del Carmen

Holy pig! This restaurant is out of this world delicious! We had the carnitas with chiccarons and the meat melted in our mouths. Uncqutious was the word that came to both of us as we were eating. Great toppings you put on yourself at the table including onions, cilantro, spicy salsa, cool avocado sauce, limes, jalepenos and spicy carrots to munch on. We then tried the taco pezunas which the waiter told us were the pigs feet. Came on the bones so you had to pick the meat and all the other good stuff off. Again, so delicious! Total for us for 1/4 kilo of carnitas, two orders of pezunas and one Fanta was about 200 pesos/$10.00 US and we were stuffed. Definitely local spot, Spanish speaking only. Holy snikey! Walking to dinner and stumbled upon this hidden gem wedged between two massive stores. Carnitas in the window and one smell and you know you're in heaven. They only sell tacos and carnitas by the kilo. We grabbed two to go. I love that they will bag up all the accoutremonts even when ordering to go. A simple sprinkle of onions and cilantro, lime and salsa, but beware it's a little spicy and you're ready to Chow down. These were among one of our favorites in our two day taco hunt....

Best carnitas tacos you will have in your entire life. I learned about this place on a food tour by myself, then I brought my friend back the same day and between us we ate a delicious pound of carnitas with tortillas. We are still talking about the carnitas from this place. 10/10!!! The service was fast and friendly.
