I strongly recommend, if you are hungry and walking down the Malecon (boardwalk) in Progreso, that you keep on walking. Frequent visitors to the area we decided to give this new and outwardly nice looking place a try. Bad idea as very little went right. Seated quickly but a 20 minute wait before our menus were delivered. Meanwhile tables next to us that came in later had already ordered.
Our waiter delivered soggy, filthy menus and then vanished. We eventually got a drink order in. Waited 10 minutes to ask for some extra citrus, finally had to go to the bar to get a couple of limes for the passable but very sweet margaritas.
Finally able to order food. Took about 20 minutes until the smallest imaginable plate of guacamole appetizer was dropped on the table. Servers vanished. Waited another 10 minutes then went to the bar again to ask for some chips with which we might enjoy the tiny dish of guacamole.
Gotta say the guys at the bar were great and quck to respond. But literally impossible to find a server or busboy. Having been there for over an hour one of our party ordered a glass of juice. A few minutes later she was delivered a cappucino. Language issues can arise so this was only a problem in the context of now we had to literally jump up and block the path of the waiter to get it corrected.
Our mains were delivered about 90 minutes after we were seated. The Arachera was passable, served with nice vegetable sides. The tuna burger ordered without bacon came, you guessed it, with bacon. The side of fries was cold and half cooked. We're pretty famished and probably should have found a manager or head waiter, but when you wait that long for service sending food back might result in an all-night stay. Our choice to continue the evening, but a poor choice in hindsight.
One in our party asked if the salmon Alfredo could be ordered without spinach and was told no, it was cooked into the sauce, so they changed their order. One less worried about spinach ordered the same dish, sure enough the spinach puree was a side garnish.
The tuna burger was actually quite good but as you would imagine, a little sloppy. Had to go in old school and eat it burger style because our friendly waiter had left out one place setting of cutlery. Our vanishing waiter was nowhere to be found again so off to the bar to ask for napkins, they gave us a handful. Sure enough 10 minutes later as we are finishing up our waiter shows up flourishing linen napkins, and of course, the missing fork.
Time to get out, another 15 minute wait for the bill. Waiter has the balls to point out, though not on the bill, we owe an extra 35 pesos for the cappuccino we didn't order (in fairness we did drink it but after his performance.....). He could see my wife was not in a cheery state and chimes in "todo bien mami?". We're not super formal folk and if the clown had been remotely useful that evening this would have been cute. However. Under the circumstances it was the perfectly consistent end to a...
Read moreOur first visit to this remarkable spot was nothing short of incredible, leaving us thoroughly impressed and eager to return. The stunning beach and boardwalk views set the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. With a menu that boasts an extensive selection of mouthwatering seafood, delectable desserts, and expertly crafted cocktails, this place truly has something for everyone. Among the many highlights, I highly recommend trying the Archangel cocktail, a perfect blend of flavors that pairs beautifully with the coastal ambiance.
Our group of seven adults and two children dined like royalty, indulging in a feast that included two orders of king crab legs, tender octopus, a flavorful crab burger, a perfectly fried whole fish, and refreshing aguachiles, among other delights. Every dish was a testament to the chef’s skill and the quality of the ingredients. The meal, including drinks, desserts, and tip, came to approximately $600 USD—a price that felt entirely justified given the exceptional experience.
The convenience and comfort offered by this establishment are equally noteworthy. Parking is free valet, making arrival hassle-free, and the venue is fully wheelchair accessible. Families will appreciate the thoughtful accommodations, as we did. We arrived with a double stroller and encountered no issues navigating the space. High chairs are readily available, and the women’s restroom is equipped with a changing table, ensuring a stress-free visit for those with young children.
The service here is of the highest caliber, reflecting the staff’s dedication to creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere. Every detail, from the attentiveness of the waitstaff to the seamless handling of our large group, demonstrated a commitment to excellence.

Read moreMy family and I went to this restaurant hoping to have a good time as this is a restaurant with 4.5 stars in Google, but the overall experience was lacking and a disappointment.
While waiting for the main dish, my aunt asked for salsa that wasn't spicy, which the waiter assured her there was (but didn't bring to our table).
We ordered a whole fish, and we asked for it to be seasoned with garlic. The waiter explained that the garlic oil would have to be put on after it was cooked, which we were fine with.
When the fish arrived, it wasn't salted, and you bet... It didn't have the garlic oil we'd asked for. We then asked the waiter for garlic oil while also mentioning the fish needed salt. The waiter said he would take care of it, but then … another waiter showed up, and we had to make our request known yet again. They then took the fish to put salt & garlic oil on it, and when they brought it back, it has the garlic oil (yay), but it still didn't have salt. We asked for salt (yet again), and we finally got it.
When we flipped the fish upside down, there was, you guessed it, no salt or garlic.
I was visiting the area for the day, and I wish we had picked a different restaurant because we left feeling disappointed with this place.
I put 1 star because I saw waiters standing around talking and whispering, and it made me wonder… you have the time to whisper and gossip but not to do your job… yet when the time to pay comes, you have the gall to ask for a tip? Like... Seriously?
Overall ridiculous place with even worse service. My aunt is going home waiting for that salsa that never arrived… Not really, none of us are going back to that restaurant again, and I'll make sure to share my experience with any family and friends who may visit this area in the future, so as to prevent others from experiencing the same...
