Yikes, steer away from this place unless you like "nachos" with cold sloppy frijoles and literal slices of fake cheese melted on top. The saddest excuse for nachos we'd ever seen, had to send it back untouched. Wish I took a picture because it was FOUL. The rest of the food wasn't any better, also tried their shrimp tacos, fried fish, grilled shrimp, all pretty bland and flavorless to be honest. One star for service which was pretty decent, despite being interrupted a few times during our meal by street vendors who were allowed to enter the restaurant. All in all, don't recommend - meh food, strange ambiance and really overpriced for the quality. You're better off finding a place that's not directly on the beach, in my experience they use that as an excuse to skimp...

We visited during the Carnaval celebrations in Progreso. It was a hot Sunday afternoon and we needed to hail an Uber back to Mérida. The staff at Restaurante Los Cocos II allowed us to sit inside to get out of the heat and wait for our ride. We ordered drinks while waiting. My son was celebrating his 18th birthday and had his 1st 2 shots of tequila here. I ordered a traditional margarita. Service was excellent. We went there for drinks after a long walk in the heat. We decided to order some food for takeout to bring back to our hotel room. When we got the bill we were charged an extra 50 pesos for a “take out fee” and my margarita was 100 pesos instead of the 80 pesos on the menu. Paid the bill plus a tip anyways.
