I happen to be living next door in the casa la Catrina and normally will pick up a croissant and one of their super delicious desserts to eat in la casa. Today was the first time I actually ate in the restaurant,.... Wow! Wonderful meal, they are always busy and now I do understand the reason why. My friend and I both had the eggs benny/mine with salmon and hers with asparagus.Limonade naturale with sparkling water was refreshing. A request was made to the chef to make my friend's egg yolks firm instead of soft. Thank you Chef Louis, the meal was excellent. Service was extraordinary, attentive but not hovering. Everything we had was so good. The food, coffee, smoothies, atmosphere, service outstanding. Everyone working there greeted you and around noon a guitarist would show up playing light Cafe music. It was a pleasure. The 3rd time we went I ordered French toast brioche I almost missed the treat of the whipped cream. I dipped my last few bites in thinking typical whipped cream but nothing came off. Had to slice with a knife like butter. Their croissants are better than many in Paris. The sourdough is unmatched in the town. The cookies are divine. My waistline will not allow me to try much more on their patisserie menu, but I have no doubt that everything else is just as magnificent.
