This place is incredible!! The atmosphere is perfect! Open to a beautiful little calle with great views, an open kitchen with a fire wood oven grill whwre you can smell the incredible aromas of fresh pizzas and pastas being made right in front of you. The process is like artwork! Excellent music helps create the perfect ambiance. By far the best part of finding this wonderful gem in theis adorable beach town is that they have numerous gluten free and vegan options. I selected a freshly made gluten free and vegan penne pasta made with fresh basil and garlic pesto. It was sublime....
Our server Chepo went above and beyond to ensure that the order was correct, and for an order from me with as many food intolerances and preferences as I have, this trully was a task! I had a house salad to start, and the balsamic reduction drizzled atop was a perfect balance of tart sweetness. I had the fire oven roasted vegetables on the side, and the flavor from the wood was deliciously present in every bite, complimenting the wonderful flavors inherent in each type of vegetable.
My boyfriend and I were actually walking toward another restaurant when we encountered Diego, the owner of this incredible establishment along the way. We notified him that we were both vegan and gluten free and he assured us that Osteria Barocca had several choices to fit our dietary needs, and if we desired anything not on the menu they would easily cater to our every ask and whim as every dish is made fresh and to order, with no exceptions. We were very pleasantly surprised and plan to return for more delicious flavors and dishes every single day of our vacation here! Thank you Diego, Chepo and all at Osteria Barocca for creating this excellent gem of an establishment. Every...
Read moreI don’t know why this restaurant has good reviews. Ordered the SAFFRON seafood risotto and out came the most flavorless risotto I’ve ever had. Oh wait - unless you consider salt a flavor. It was a salty, cheesy mess of a risotto and when I asked where the saffron was, the chef (I think?) came out and seemed confused about what saffron is. I explained that saffron is a spice that tints food yellow and that can also be found in the famous Spanish dish called Paella. Confusion. She walked back in. Then the owner came out and I explained the same thing to him but he tried to gaslight me - in typical Mexican fashion - saying there was SOME saffron in there. My husband took a bite in front of him and we could both assure him there’s not even 1% of saffron in there. He seemed annoyed and just asked if I wanted him to make another risotto. Turned off by the inability to cook tasteful food (and also I hate the idea of throwing food) I respectfully declined but told him they shouldn’t have saffron written in the menu if that’s not what they plan to put in the dish. My husband had a cappuccino. Courtesy had been if they at least had taken the cappuccino off the bill, but no. The food isn’t the only thing, they also have some wood fire oven (?) that spits out smoke all over their patio as well. It’s obviously safety standards that aren’t up to par with those of North America, because as someone with asthma and with a 7-month old baby in a stroller, I left before my husband (he finished the risotto). When I came back to our hotel all of my clothes, my hair, and my baby’s clothes smelled strongly of wood fire smoke. I had to shower and change all of our clothing because I was having breathing issues at this point. Safe to say I won’t be back at this...
Read moreSo I went to this place about a month ago, asked if the roof top was open some older guy name Max, told me yes there is a day pass of of $500 pesos and you can use the pool and we give credit back $400 each on food, initially I wanted to eat only a pizza, but I said I could spend $500 pesos me and my company, so I said yes,. The pool was dirty, even plastic glasses probably from the night before were inside the pool, I had a pizza and other food with 4 cans of indio beer ridiculous expensive,$ 100 pesos each, anyway what I consumed was about a $1000 pesos thinking of course I will pay the difference of the $400 pesos each that you get back in credit,,,I realized the charge next day on my card was more because I didn't look at the bill at the moment very well, when I called him this guy changed everything saying I had to pay for the use of the pool $100 pesos each plus what I consumed with was about the $1000 pesos, I said but you said it was a "day pass" wich I know how it works, but he tried to gaslight me on saying I was confuse, that my bill was the $1000 pesos plus use of he pool $200 for both, the only reason I eat on the roof top was because of the day pass" he offers, I was not even planing to spend that kind of money there to swim in a dirty pool, im surprise someone who has a restaurant doesn't know how day pass works, he charged me $1200 in total overcharged $200, obviously here the customer is not always right, I won't recomend this place and check your bill well, it's not about $200 pesos, I can spend even more but not threre,...
