Doña Triny's — Restaurant in Puerto Morelos

Tldr: I left hungry, sick, tired, and insulted

Don't let the pretty food fool you. This place is awful. It took 30 minutes to get the juice I ordered which came with black grit (I'm hoping it's papaya seeds that got ground up).

They kept confusing tables and gave someone else our guacamole. It took 45 minutes to get ours. Soon after they brought out the rellenoswe ordered. The were rotten, not just bad, but they actually tasted like it was going to make us sick. I started vomiting a few hours later. First time I've ever gotten food poisoning in Mexico.

I told the waiter and asked for the check. He got the cook and she came out. She had the audacity to tell me it was just Mexican cheese and I didn't know what it should taste like. She then explained what a rellano was. I told her to give us the check. Oddly it never crossed her mind that a person who could speak to her in Spanish and knew how to describe the food may have in fact eaten a rellano before (my favorite Mexican dish).

Other thoughts: the guacamole was oddly warm and the rotten...

After traveling around the yucatan peninsula for 3 weeks and disappointed with most places... stopped here the chicken enchiladas with mole sauce were excellent...most places cover everything with the sauce not here... plus the Chile relleno had Oaxaca cheese inside it's lovely cheese... definitely going back while I'm here...chef is from Tabasco lovely lady...returned for breakfast tried the chilaquiles rojos good... asked for my egg over easy and for the first time in Mexico came out perfect... empanadas with manchego cheese were really good...fresh orange juice super sweet...great service...going to eat...

Excellent Mexican meal and good value for your money. We stopped in for lunch and were pleasantly surprised at the quality of food and the exceptional service. We had the tortilla soup, beef, chicken and pork tacos with rice and beans and beef chimichangas. We also ordered a side of pico de gallo and guacamole - best guacamole we’ve ever had. Everything was served fresh and hot. The wait staff was very attentive and came to the table frequently refilling our beverages and clearing the table. I highly recommend stopping in for a bite if you’re visiting...
