I went to Bhogali at the Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres resort with 7 of my family members. I have never before had the level service that Luis provided, at the resort, at home in Canada’s capital, or in the dozens of other countries I have travelled to. We were treated like family, which to me is a privilege of the highest honour. He was enthusiastic with the children and prompt with their meals, knowing their patience was limited at best. He was detailed with his praise of his recommendations so we could properly anticipate (drool over) the world of flavours headed our way. Of upmost importance, he noticed that our family was speaking in French and he switched languages to serve us in our native tongue whenever he could. He was the first staff member at this resort who made an effort to speak to us in French and it meant the world to us. I was privileged to eat food made by Deepak this evening. Luis was a benevolent host and brought us samples of all of Deepak’s specialities. The chicken soup was delicious, but I have to admit I could eat his samosas, aloo tikki chaat, and malai kofta quite happily for the rest of my stay here. I have a deep love of Indian food and often opt for it in Ottawa but Deepak made the best malai kofta I have ever had. My in laws are not overly adventurous with their meal choices and I had been the one to insist on making a dinner reservation at the Indian restaurant, we are now in negotiations on how many other reservations to cancel in order to come back here again. Thank you both Luis and Deepak for providing the opportunity for a family to bond over a deep appreciation of your wonderful food and trying new things together. I am one to find one thing I like and never order anything else again but your hospitality had me enjoying all kinds of new things this evening. Muchas...
Read moreChanging to 1 star now that I left. We were essentially bullied into leaving a review. After what would have been a nice dinner, the chef and a manager stood right next to our table and asked how it was. We said great. And then they did their little sales pitch for leaving a review. We said yeah ok we will. It immediately soured the experience. But we got the feeling they weren’t leaving until we showed them our phone and did it in front of them. They watched us type it out. Completely ruined the experience. No wonder most of the reviews for the main resort call out a specific waiter in a specific restaurant. It’s either astroturfed with ai, harassing people into leaving reviews, or preying on...
Read moreWe stayed at the TRS and decided to visit this resturant on the family side of the resort. Overall experience was awful. Never had such bad mango lassi before, it was frozen and icy and tasted bad. For starters we ordered samosas and chat, it was obvious it was frozen. Paneer tikka tasted nothing but like greasy butter. For the main course, we ordered pav bhaji, Malai kofta and biryani which all tasted as frozen food that was warmed up. Very disappointed least to say. The gulab Janum was stale and smelled bad. The halwa was bad and had a foul smell to it. The food was so bad that we left Hungary and had to look for another food option. Please avoid eating here unless you want...
