Chang Thai — Restaurant in Quintana Roo

Service was ok, to be expected at a resort of this level.

The atmosphere in the restaurant was good except for the bathrooms, they were quite dirty.

The food was atrocious:

We ordered Thai iced tea and were served horchatas. They weren't bad, they just weren't Thai ice teas. Veggie spring rolls were soggy with "peanut sauce" slopped on top (unseasoned and watery, kinda looked like baby puke) Green papaya salad HAD NO PAPAYA IN IT. It was literally carrots soaked in some sort of sickeningly sweet sauce. It was like ordering a hamburger and being given bread and lettuce

We had ordered chicken pad Thai and green curry as our entrees. Another table had ordered the chicken pad Thai as well - when theirs arrived it looked like a sopping wet mess. We just walked out after seeing that.

The food was honestly so bad that I feel insulted to have been served it. Do yourself a favor and don't even consider...

I had one of the best dinner ever at Chang Thai. I first was welcome by a very lovely and humble host called Mariane, she took to our table and presented our waiter Nelson. Since my husband he is Thai I advised Nelson that we wanna to try some Thai food to see the difference. Nelson was super nice and patient, he even wanna to lear some Thai words which I thought it was very nice of him. The food arrived and everything was delicious, we were surprised at the end with a dessert and even the main chef stopped by to check how was our food.. I was literally in shock for what they did specially from Chef Salvador to stop by and check on us, this was something I would never forget. In overall I would give the restaurant a 10 out of 10, absolutely outstanding...

I can't thank Christian enough for the excellent service we got at Chang Thai. He was just fantastic! He knows the cuisine so well and made excellent suggestions that we went for, no regrets. The food, drinks, dessert are to die for. The atmosphere was also amazing.  Christian was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our meal. His expertise and kindness brought a personal touch to our evening, He even made us a rose and a candle out of napkins 💜 and we left...
