If you are staying in adults only section of the hotel make sure you specify to your butler that you would like to sit in the more adult section of the restaurant. When we arrived we were seated in the section with all of the families with kids. We have kids and we love them but on this trip we are celebrating our anniversary and we try to get more private time for one another. We asked to be seated in the more private section of the restaurant and we got some attitude from the waitress telling us is fully booked. Eventually we were seated in the more intimate section of the restaurant. There were only two other tables in that section of the restaurant the whole time were there so they werenât fully booked. The manager of the restaurant who introduced himself was highly pushy on ordering a bottle of wine and pay extra for the wine just because we were in this part of the restaurant. I found it not very pleasant. For the Mexican restaurant at the resort we had a way higher expectations. The food was very average and very disappointing. Appetizers were ok but nothing more. I ordered fish for the main course which was very over cooked or sat there for a long time, my husband had chicken that was pretty ok. Deserts another huge disappointment, we got a very cold churros with even colder chocolate dipping sauce. After one bite We didnât even finish it. Personally I would not recommend this place. There are way better restaurants at this resort such as El Gaucho with super high end service and...
Read moreDinner here was wonderful! We were staying at TRS Coral and were worried that the quality of restaurants wouldnât be quite as good on the all-ages Grand Palladium side, but we were very pleasantly surprised! Servers Fernando and Mariano were friendly and were happy to provide recommendations for our meal. Chips, guacamole, and bean dip with pork were brought to the table shortly after we were seated, and the bean dip in particular was fantastic! We decided on the aguachiles (shrimp), fish ceviche, sopes, pozole, creamed corn soup, mole chicken, flank steak, and milk cake. Our servers were very encouraging of us ordering multiple dishes, and as we had read from some reviews on here that the servings were small, we were happy to do so. The serving sizes ended up being generous, and we were stuffed by the time dessert came. The food was all delicious, with the aguachiles, mole chicken, and flank steak being the standouts. The chicken thigh and leg were conveniently deboned. We thought the flank steak was a gamble as we had heard not-great things about the meat quality at the resortâs steakhouses, but wow, the steak was juicy and tender! We only wish that we had more days at the resort so we could come back for...
Read moreI was skeptical of coming to to the Mexican restaurant. I also have average feed backs from other guess. I had ceviche de pescado, tortilla soup and tuna tacos and all were great. I also tried the Fish Poblano but it was to dry for my taste. To make this restaurant better the menu should be larger knowing that people will expect to have a great experience because represents Mexico. Grill Octopus should be a must. I will like to rate this restaurant in the following categories: Greeting 10 of 10 Service 10 of 10 Food quality 9 of 10. Decorations: 10 of 10 Clean/organization 10 of 10 Total: 49 of 50
