The coffee is good but the place itself leaves much to desire and especially the menu situation is incredibly confusing.
They told us upfront that they did not have half of the things on the menu (french toast, bagels, bread basket). Then on my menu there were some drinks striked through in black (mimosas, spritz, etc.) which they DID have? And when I decided to order a yogurt bowl they said that they did not have yogurt either, so I asked to give me the bowl with milk instead of yogurt but for some weird reason they could not do that, they only wanted to replace the yogurt with smoothie (if I liked a smoothie bowl I would have ordered a smoothie, just saying). On top of that I had to ask several times for sugar for my coffee and since they never brought it we had to get it ourselves.
My partner had the smoothie bowl and it was sadly lacking flavor. Overall my recommendation would be to order your coffee here to go and have breakfast somewhere else on the island, there are plenty of other local-owned delicious and cheaper restaurants to...
Read moreTake my review with a grain of salt since I didnt really have much time to enjoy the full vibe of the place and my experience might have been a one-off which i really hope since it looks like such a cute coffee place to chill for the day and do some work maybe. I found this place on Google Maps and based on it’s high rating and user reviews i thought i’d grab my last coffee on my way out from Isla Holbox from Clandestino. I had 15 minutes before the departure of my ferry so i was in a bit of a rush. I walked in and requested 2 cold brews and the barista informed me that they were out of cold brew. So i ordered 2 iced espressos for take-out. What i don’t understand, is why they gave me the coffee in small paper cups with no lid. And now that i’ve looked at some of the other user’s photos, I see that they must have cups with a lid so i dont understand why they chose to give me my coffee in small paper cups. Now picture me, running in a dirt road to catch my ferry with two small coffee cups with no lid. Yes, not a very pleasant...
Read moreIt’s almost impossible for this place to get anything less than 5 stars. By far the best quality on an island full of mediocre restaurants. Very accessible prices. Best coffee I’ve had on the island, if you’re an espresso drinker, this is your place. True espresso, cappuccinos and lattes available here. Nice chai and matcha latte variations. First time I’ve had a flat white, which is a latte variation with a larger coffee to milk proportion On the breakfast side, even though menu is limited, everything is top notch. I’ve had the avocado toast and the tomato&mozzarella toast, my wife opted for the Granola and protein fruit bowl. Salmon bagel also tasted great. A lot of businesses on this island should follow this business model. Quality will bring customers back. Good job Clandestino!!
This is not a paid advertising, this is a true review. If you liked my review please give me a thumbs up. It will help more people see this review, and hopefully in return get more people in this place. Holbox deserves more quality places...
