This is THE spot in Holbox at night. After 10pm, it starts to get busy with an amazing dance party in the streets. By midnight, there could be 100 people listening to a DJ or a band. We saw some pretty great dancers and lots of others trying their best or just swaying. Most people just had there own drinks in the street, but they have a full bar and menu. We ordered shots at the bar and that was a bit of a mistake. They have weird system of ordering and paying 1 person and then taking a ticket to another to make your drinks. So you have to wait twice and on top of that it took them 15 minutes to process my card because their system wasn't connecting to the internet. That could be a one time issue, but it was also 500 pesos for 2 shots of 1800 gold plus tip. That's pretty much home prices, but you have to pay for the fun atmosphere and most of the crowd is on the street not buying anything, so I don't begrudge them the prices. You can't miss the dance party if you're in Holbox. I heard it moves to Bikini Bottom after 1am, but we didn't make...
Read moreWe went for a drink after our delicious dinner in an Argentinian restaurant beside. Everything went pretty well until our waitress decided to ruin everything by bringing the bill of 860 M$ for two cocktails and 2 Mezcal shots upgraded at 990 M$ wrote with a pen, and a «thank you very much ». The price was already the same than in Switzerland, no problem we saw it on the menu. But the fact she tried to put the tip by herself, starting to explain it was like this in Mexico, and after I told her it was not true it was the first place doing this since we arrive, she said it was her boss pushing to do that. Not even assuming ! I told her it was a ridiculous way to get tips, leaving the feeling she was taking us for stupid people never travelling, at 40 years old. I left 1000 M$ to show us the money was not the problem, but told her she will have a bad review and I think she didn’t care at all, grabbing the tips and leaving us with this frustrating sensation. I would have been so ashamed on her place. With this mentality, I suggest you to go to Salma...

No matter where everyone is for the night, somehow almost all tourists/visitors end up at the Hot Corner due to very good reasons: great vibes and atmosphere, highly-enjoyable live music, great overall DJ music, yummy cocktails, and of course, cheap beer. You can't beat this place. I ended up here two nights in a row during my 4day/3night stay in this island. One night they had these random fire dancers right outside the bar, and while not part of the bar entertainment, that was pretty amazing to experience nonetheless.
Definitely check this place out when you're in Holbox Island. The best thing: dancing barefoot! It doesn't...
