I’m rating this 3 stars because my wife originally wanted pancakes but they no longer had pancakes at 11 am... she ordered French toast which was soggy. It almost looked like it was not fully cooked. There were fruits on top of the French toast however, as someone who knows how to make French toast it’s impossible for them to get soggy unless the fruits have been sitting on the French toast for quite some time. The coffee wasn’t good at all (which I can understand considering this is another country and we are used to American coffee). When I asked an employee about the French toast he went to the back and asked the cook and according to him the cook said that’s just how the French toast is. I’ve personally never ate soggy French toast but ok...
If you don’t want soggy uncooked French toast consider something else on the menu. I had avocado toast & it was actually pretty good. I’ve noticed in general from my experience in these places in tulum customer service is not the best. They will not refund you. They will not bring out every customers food at the same time. They don’t have the ideal of “the customer is right”. And if you are the kind of person who is used to American service you will be disappointed. I suggest staying at a resort rather than considering the town. Resorts do uphold this mentality and make it easier to...
Read moreWent there for breakfast. It's got lots of plants in the back and fans to help with the heat outside. The server was very nice, even used our phone to translate things for us so we could order correctly.
I got a dirty chai latte with almond milk - iced, half sweet and the pancakes. A very sweet and satisfying meal. My partner got the honey latte iced, also half sweet, and avocado toast. He seemed to think the toast was a little bland but good nonetheless.
The bathroom is in the back, smells a bit and the drain from the sink leaks when you wash your hands in it.
I thought the service speed was good, but it was just the two of us in the restaurant. A giant group of eight came right after us and the server was kind enough to let them know that food for that many people was going to take longer so they went elsewhere.
Not sure I'll be back here but...
Read moreCozy, cute cafe in an unassuming location. For those living & working in La Veleta neighborhood, this has been my goto spot for a perfect cup of Americano for the past three weeks. The owner, Angel, is just about the nicest barista I've met who remembers his frequent guests.
Coffee quality and taste is on par with all the third wave coffee seen stateside. The food, especially the fluffy pancakes & toasts, are very delicious.
Side note, Angel supports the local efforts to take care of strays. The house cat, Molly, can't help but say hi every morning.
No WiFi to laptop camp, but it's refreshing to take a moment to just enjoy coffee with no distractions. All credit cards...
