The pleasure of dinning here in San Miguel de Allende, is first with good friends. Then it’s the excitement of a new restaurant. It only gets better when you start with catching up on each other’s lives as the cocktails arrive, tequila, a margarita and a rose champagne, why not. A Cesar salad made deftly tableside with just the right amount of anchovy. The conversation all but stops as we all savor each delicious bite. Wine is called for, to the rescue, the owner comes to the table suggesting a Spanish red which he believes will pair well with our main course of choice, four filets, béarnaise, green & black peppercorn, each with their own helping of parmesan fries. What next, a chocolate Laval cake with vanilla ice cream and cuatro cucharas. The obligatory cappuccino and Grand Mariner to finish as we float out the door into warm night air of San Miguel. Thanks to dear friends for sharing this brilliant gem. Par excellence in all areas, of Spanish, Portuguese vibe, classic decore, brilliant attentive service, extraordinary artistic gastronomy, worthy of high praise is how the Phantom Gourmet describes this lovely restaurant and extravagant evening. Read moreWe stumbled upon this beautiful restaurant. Iberia Pork is on display when we enter. We ordered Chateaubriand which was prepared at the table. The rest of us had filets with black peppercorn sauce, mushroom sauce and red wine sauce. Dinner was so delicious that we went back the next night. My Caesar dressing was prepared at the table. Chateaubriand and filet with red wine sauce was ordered again the second night. The pomodoro sauce for my pasta was the best I’ve ever had. Once a year they have a fresh tuna fish that they have an event for. It was filet’d in front of us. We did not partake yet they brought us rolls, crunchy rolls, and inside out rolls to sample. Chocolate volcano for dessert was beyond delicious. Chairs were pulled out for the ladies, napkins placed on our laps. I cannot say enough about this wonderful experience. Big thanks to Christian, Ivan and the rest...
Read moreOn Mondays and Wednesdays, they have a 2 for 1 sushi roll special. The rolls are delicious and a good size. However, I would recommend ordering one roll at a time to mitigate language/communication issues. For example, our dining companions ordered 3 rolls and the waiter brought 3 rolls however one of the rolls was not ordered. Our companions accepted the wrong roll but the correct roll was brought out 15 mins later and the management demanded that all 4 rolls were paid for. Additionally, beware when you order a cocktail. Top shelf liquors will have a surcharge. We were charged a surcharge of $9 for a $10 cocktail. Because of these issues, 3 stars is my rating for Murasaki. My wife and I would come here again, but (1) we would order one roll at a time; and (2) we will not...
