Decent drinks and food, not to mention the great sunset views from the rooftop. Service seemed decent with almost all the staff speaking good English, until the following incident:

When requested the check, the waitress asked if I would like to add tips. To which, I clearly said 10% (along with hand gestures). Instead of acknowledging, the waitress simply ignored and tried to scam me by adding 20% tip. When confronted, she got nervous and pretended she didn’t understand English. (Disclaimer: up until that point she spoke perfect English)

After a lot of back and forth, without any consideration of whether I would like difference tip amount in cash, she gave me receipt saying the payment was cancelled. This clearly wasn’t the case on my end. Since, it was apparently “cancelled” on their end, I was forced to pay again. So, at the end of the day, I had paid twice. I requested to speak to the manager, to whom I would give a shout out to. He was super helpful and communicative. He gave me his personal cellphone number to keep in touch as sometimes the banks take upto 48 hours to process any pending transactions. After a few days, I wrote to him explaining I had two charges and he sent me my money back using Dinero Express. What a hassle, just because one person thought, I wouldn’t notice the difference in tip amount.

Suggestions to the management: please ensure your clients aren’t scammed and let the customer type in the tip amount. Simply, give the machine to the customer so they can make a choice based on their experience. At the end of the day, it’s the TIP that’s paid based on the satisfaction of...

Please Go Somewhere Else.... After hearing mixed reviews of this restaurant I stopped in for a quick lunch this afternoon May 21, 2024 (4:00 pm-ish). The restaurant was clean and aesthetically pleasing , the hostess was friendly... THAT IS IT. THAT IS ALL. Since everyone raves about the Jicama Tacos, I tried them. They were just OK ,they were BLAND and lacked flavour or seasoning. I had to ask for some salsa to spice it up a little. They simply tasted like fried shrimp, potato crisps and chipotle Mayo on a flat slice of Jicama... Nothing special. I then tried the Tuna Tostadas, they were a tad soggy, smelled fishy (fresh fish never smells fishy) and just NOT pleasant to eat . I only ate one, for fear of getting food poisoning. The highlight of my Unpleasant Experience was the server RAUL who did not smile ONCE while serving me, often rolled his eyes when I asked him a question and basically treated me like I was bothering him, even though the restaurant was EMPTY . Don't worry, I still tipped him. On the way out ,I saw a man who looked like he worked there he was at the bottom of the stairs with an earpiece in his ear, I mentioned to him how bad the service is and he just said "yea, sorry bout that" and continued his conversation with the woman he was chatting with. Real Top Notch service! :-0 Ladies and Gentlemen there are MANY wonderful restaurants in San Miguel De ALLENDE. PLEASE Don't waste your time or your hard earned...

Let me start by saying we were a party of 7 and the other 6 were very happy with food. The jicama tacos were a hit. The jimama is used as the taco shell. Being veggie, I did not try. There were about four veggie options on the menu. The traditional corn dish was very rich and too spicy for me. And I like spice. The apple salad had a lot going on in it, it should have worked but for me the flavors were competing too much. The cheese on the cheese plate was good but needed a lot more bread. Instead of the cheese plate I was brought the ham plate. I refused it and then had to ask at least once to get the right plate. By the time I got it everyone else was done eating. So, there is a bit of a service mishap there. The views are great, the city on one side and a close-up of the church on the other. There were smokers at the table next to us which must be allowed there as the servers never tried to stop them. Since we were by the open air side the smoke was pulled across or table and was really strong. I ended up not finishing any of my dishes in part because of that. To be fair, everyone else at my table said they would go there again. I am not...

This is a lovely rooftop restaurant in a great location. The food (primarily small plates and tapas) is excellent. They are well known for their jicama tacos and they didn't disappoint. I also enjoyed the croquettas and my wife loves the goat cheese and pear salad. The service was very good We will never return. Mexico has strong no smoking ordinances in place to protect the public health. We found it unusual that every table in the restaurant has an ashtray. It is illegal to smoke in restaurants in Mexico both indoor and outdoor spaces, yet it seems to be OK with management. When a gentleman at the next table lit up, our meal was essentially ruined. Even though we were outside, the smell continuously wafted in our direction. It's a shame. I really wanted to enjoy this restaurant but because they cater to smokers, they probably lose more business than they gain due to not enforcing smoking regulations.
