Café Umarán — Restaurant in San Miguel de Allende

Came to this place to have coffee and people watch and was blown away by the delicious drinks and pastries. I had the tascalate, which is a fantastic prehispanic drink made with milled corn, achiote, cacao, and other spices that tantalize the taste buds! Coupled with the dark chocolate croissant, it was the perfect balance to end the night. However, I couldn't stop thinking about it, and I had to come back today for more! My sister had the afogato with piquette and the taro with lavender & was just amazed at the perfect taste. The best part was the service that we received from Brandon! Well, what can I say about Cafe Umaran that hasn't been said already? In a few short months, they've won the hearts of tourists and locals alike. What's not to love about oven fresh breads, gigantic saucers of coffee, delectable (and at times festive) pastries, delicious sandwiches and an insanely cool indoor wooden tree hanging over you as you enjoy your meal?
