Came here on the recommendation of the chef at Aperis. They have been open for about three weeks at this point.
First, the food. We stated up front that we did have a small dietary restriction (no raw fish, no unpasteurized cheese). The chef came to the table and was immediately accommodating. We had a pork belly with green mole, Mexican wagyu, and roasted cauliflower with puréed eggplant dish. The standout that I will taste in my dreams however was the fideo seca. I don’t have an abuela, but if I did she would be mad at this dish. It is stewed beef and tomatoes with a cured yolk. It is seasoned with memories and generations of mothers teaching sons to cook.
The service was perfect. Napkins were folded when we left the table. The GM stopped by two or three times during the meal. Our server spent time with us even giving a brief history of the area. Service was easy in both English and Spanish.
The restaurant itself is beautiful. Somebody has to cut down a couple of trees that block the view of the Parochia. I know that sounds dumb but the view from the restaurant on a clear night is stunning but they blocked two windows with trees. We happened to be there on a night with a wedding which really needs to be addressed. The 2010s white girl club music shaking the walls of the restaurant was kind of sad despite all of the audible “woo”-ing. Not the restaurant’s fault but the rosewood needs to find a way to control the sound of their outdoor wedding venue.
Would love to come back and watch how the restaurant evolves. There is nothing like...
Read moreWe were staying across the street at the Numu Hotel and wanted to come check out the Rosewood and have dinner. We came to eat on their first evening of being open, 10/25/24.
The grounds were amazing, fantastic views, excellent service. We are vegetarian, and they didn’t have many options unfortunately, that’s the only reason for only 4 stars. The only vegetarian option they had was expensive, $25, and the portion was tiny. This is shown in the pictures I included with this review.
The other thing we were not happy about was that still water for two people was $9. Would love to come back if they had some more vegetarian options. They did include bread, a snapper appetizer, and a small little dessert treat when they brought the check which was...
Read morePhenomenal restaurant, definitely the most underrated at the Rosewood property. The cuisine is probably best described as ‘Modern Mexican’ - don’t expect tacos but approach it with a somewhat experimental and open mind (I mean this in a positive way). The ambience and decor is just fantastic, including the bathrooms (they even have changing tables at the gents - a rarity in Mexico). Service is friendly and charming. We went 3 times...
