Like the decor, liked that they take cc (although not AmEx), like that they offer vegan options. Unfortunately this is one of those ‘don’t fall for pretty looks’ warnings. May work for unususpecting gringos but will fall short for anyone who actually grew up on ‘real’ Mexican food.

I ordered the 3 vegetarian options tacos (2 jaimaca & 1 one mole con plátano) And 1 Argentina chorizo taco

Vegetarian tacos: I Really appreciated the paper thin tortillas, the cream sauce and them even offering vegan options. Unfortunately the Jimaixa one—was waaaay too super limey for my taste. The second one also had a super strange grit in them. While I Loved The mole sauce, I was expecting/hoping for a more soft plantain; mine was tough, chewy and not even edible—I took two bites, scraped off the mole to use for my chorizo taco and kept the rest on my plate.

Half the chorizo was burnt black—see photo.

Oh yes and I love salsa but all the options here were all too spicy for me to even use.

As if my bad taco experience wasn’t bad enough, I waited an extra 7 minutes to get the bill I had to request 3 times. The waiter than cane over and twice told me I had to put the tip first. I have waitresses before and appreciate servers so Even if I have a disappointing food experience—like I did here, I still tip the waiter. I put in 15 pesos, $1 US converted which was 10% of my bill. The waiter then asked the other server how much I tipped, when told he just swiped the card and said nothing, no thank you or anything even though tipping is extra in Mexico and not customary. So this ending made left an even worst taste in my mouth over the entire experience. This feels more like a late night ‘drunk tacos’ option than a sober looking ‘for amazing affordable tacos’ experience. Unfortunately I left here incredibly frustrated and still craving something. So Until I find that place here in SMA, I will stick to my authentic street tacos and...

Ok so their menu is limited did wise as far it being mainly tacos. However, they were very good and it was a great spot to enjoy a sunset, have some tacos and drinks. The rooftop is pretty cool to enjoy a late afternoon or sunset as we did. I would recommend Umami in San Miguel de Allende to anyone wanting some quick tacos and a few drinks and great ambiance. Music was great, service was awesome and it was very lively and with the night all the lights came on and it was really great to just unwind and enjoy the evening. Thanks to the staff, it was great. I'll drop a few pics with my review. It is Wednesday early evening so not 7pm yet and it's a nice crowd and...

Best tacos I had in Mexico! We visited this place on the first day in San Miguel de Allende and their taco made a great introduction to the city. Enjoyed their margarita that is served in a huge glass as well. I am leaving 4 star only because we went back to this place for their opening time (it says they are open at noon on Sundays on google and their website) but they weren’t open. And we go back 12:45 and the doors were semi open. Asked the staff if they were open but she wasn’t even eager to ask what we wanted (take out or eat in etc) and was not helpful. By the way we were gonna order 8-10 tacos back to Mexico City because of how much we loved your tacos. Very...
